Well I can only assume there will be a neat little week of GC players being linked to other clubs this week.
Don't see much happening from an ADE perspective.

Budarick/Rosas/Flanders would be the gettable players.
We would only want Flanders.

Seems Flanders has been carrying a significant back injury for a big period this year.
A big offer $$ wise and Hawks 1st pick would be a wise investment IMO.
We are probably down the list of suiters, but surely WC has been having those conversations, just like the L Neale chat mid year.

Davies seems to have played his way into a starting spot but would try shake him free with decent coin. He’s they sort of player they can’t afford to overpay with young academy mids coming and their top end in Rowell and Anderson well remunerated.

Not sure he’s the long term answer for us, but would be a decent cog and they type of player we are missing.

Totally agree with Davies.
I guess if you are going to spend draft capital and $$ you have a throw at the stumps for the best player you can extract and as all the academy players come through there is going to be a squeeze on midfield spots or GC.
I still think he is gettable for the right offer, mid 1st round pick for Flanders who is just coming into his peak, just turned 24 and pushed out by Rowell and Anderson is nothing against Flanders.

Well, it's always interesting how much clubs seem to overrate athleticism and not pure footballing ability.

It's probably why Geelong's been up for so long, because they bring in players who are footballers first and while being athletic is important to break away on transition, as well as defend, it's useless if you can't win the ball, or maintain possession, to begin with.
We did that for years though. Prioritised skills over athleticism. Thats why when the rules changed we got cooked, because what we had was slow, non athletic players good at playing in a team based system.

Modern footy is increasingly becoming 1v1 again. If Sharp is Tom Green or Dawson levels of athletic then he’s fine. If it’s P.Cripps or Priddis then it’s a big pass from me.

Not so sure. Chesser, Brander and Venables good examples. Allan and Ginbey more recent ones. All first rounders that were more athletes than footballers.

I’d pick him with the hawks first rounder, but decent chance he goes earlier than that.
Think he’s a lock to go before that now unfortunately, really needed Hawthorn to go home in week one to have a chance.

We can pretty easily move up for him, but I doubt we will, not usually our ammo.

Probably done to death now and not sure about the credibility, just found this new post.
AFL Trades and Rumours -
'Brisbane Lions' Premiership star Lachie Neale could be on the move with rumours that the 2-time Brownlow Medalist wants to finish his playing career in Western Australia. His former club Fremantle have reportedly already ruled themselves out of any interest, which just leaves this year's Wooden Spooners West Coast Eagles as the team who could secure his services...'

When did Luke Shuey get the tats ????

What’s the better play?

Pick 1 - Duursma

Pick 2 - CDT

Use Hawks 1st + 19 to trade up to 6 and take Sharp, Cumming, Greeves or Robey

Or

Pick 1 - Duursma

Trade pick 2 and Hawks 1st to Essendon for 5 and 8 (Merrett pick they’ll get from Hawthorn)

Pick 5 - Sharp, Cumming, Greeves or Robey

Pick 8 - Lindsay, Cumming, Grlj, Farrow, Taylor or NHH

That and trading in pick 7 should be easy if Suns want late picks, has been talk of them wanting to trade ahead of the bids but can’t see a world where that’d be easy.

The other issue is, do Essendon trade if Duursma isn’t on the table?

If we can do both of those deals that leaves us with Duursma, 5, 7 and 8 which is the sweet spot I think.

Gets Sharp if he slides, otherwise it’s Robey. Then locks in Cumming and Farrow/Lindsay.

It was debunked last week, not going anywhere and would only probably be half interested if Fremantle showed some interest which they have not publicly.
