What pleases me is that'll be killing the prince today. He pretends to act humble and laugh it off, but deep down his expectation that he should win it burns him. He's obviously a very skilled player and top 3 in the comp at the moment, but his perfect boy image (although he can be a bit of a tosser on the field with his waving arms, give me a free, seagulling 1-2s) gives me very manufactured boy band vibes.

I like Josh more.

Little Nicky is as fake as Fly. The facade of humility is rubbish.
 
Going back to the contested possession stats that started being recorded in 2010, the only times the Brownlow winner wasn't in the top 5 for contested possessions was [PLAYERCARD]Dane Swan[/PLAYERCARD] in 2011(6th) and Mitchell (7) and Cotchin(19) in 2012. Jobe who originally won was 4th. Pretty strong link to being under the umpires nose and winning a brownlow.
 
I think even now with 4 umpires and still the midfielders are dominating, it's highlighting how little feel the umpires actually have for the game. They're basically just fit running people who have learnt a handbook of rules and blow the whistle accordingly. I think the umps need some coaching to comprehend impacts of KPP's, defence, attack and also have more reflection time to consider their votes.

They need coaching on umpiring before we start sinking time and money into coaching them on how to vote for the Brownlow.

Watch a Collingwood game. Nick Daicos is the best umpire supervisor the sport has. The amount of free kicks Collingwood receives because of Nick’s guidance is impressive.

The umpires are probably scared of being fined if they ever said something like that to Nicky.
