The comments about this on Reddit are hilarious. People really only see what they want to see.
Or they literally cannot read.

You can never be too sure on places like this or Reddit. I'm sure Scotty will sort that out soon enough when he gets his way.

We're part of it, but 90% of these places are cesspools at the end of the day.

The nuffies made their minds up on Geelong and ‘cheating’ years ago, there were always going to be up in arms regardless of us being fined or not, they’re convinced we cheat and nothing will change their minds so just let them believe what they want to believe and keep whinging.

Dwayne Russell certainly not helping things. The AFL media are absolute parasites who love nothing more than fanning the flames of discontent and gaining the most clicks. Sports media seems to be immune to slander

UnitedWarrior93 catching strays because I've suggested Leicester should be stripped is today's hilarity.

We made some miniscule disclosure errors. They broke FFP either side of winning two trophies lols.

What’s Dwayne said?
"Something something Bailey Smith." He basically had a 'Caro moment'.

SEN's Dwayne Russell believes that the AFL have treated the Cats rather favourably in recent years.

"The AFL has, for some reason, treated Geelong lightly this year, with the Bailey Smith non-sanction for abusing a photographer that was just going about her job," Russell told SEN Afternoons.

"That was crazy, that the AFL could be weak - and I said they were weak at the time. Nothing to see here when it comes to any fine or suspensions for their Mad Monday stuff as well, given what happened with the Giants.

"It does look like Geelong has been very lightly treated there as well, and it is sad that that has been confirmed by the AFL this year, that Geelong does seem to get lighter treatment when it comes to indiscretions of their people.

"I can see why people would be outraged today. I do think that Geelong has had favourable treatment.

"It's crazy stuff, to think that the AFL CEO went and had a cup of tea at Bailey Smith's house. How may CEO's have gone to have cups of tea with players that have caused heartbreak and heartache for the AFL, given their actions?

"And in the end, nothing to see here. Bailey Smith continues to tweet, and put himself out there as someone that divides the public. It's a weird world."

Bailey Smith’s deal with Cotton On was not a subject of the audit, and was ticked off by the AFL.

People are obsessed with wanting Geelong to fall.

“$40,000 of the fine has been suspended for two years, pending no further salary cap or soft cap breaches.

The AFL conducted an 'extended audit' covering the 2019-2024 seasons, which found that the Cats did not breach the AFL's total player payments limit, or the AFL player movement rules, at any time in that period.”

“However, the League found that there were a series of "non-disclosures or late disclosures" of arrangements with club associates and third parties.

Non-disclosures found in Geelong's AFLW program were found to be administrative errors, rather than "material breaches".

Nuffies: no surprise the AFL is covering up for its pet club

So if you hold some sort of academy training at a farm you have to run it by the AFL first? Some real Big Brother type shit. 😭

This is boring. I thought we were going to be the puppet masters behind the cold war and directly involved in 9/11 or something.

It's a hotel stay, a kids clinic, and some mobile phones and computers? So disappointing.

Be better Geelong.

No you just cannot accept 'free' anything from a 'club associate'. Or it needs to be declared or something.

FYI peoples that includes club members so think twice before buying anyone at the club a drink or giving them a hearty thanks.

In fact don't cheer when we kick a goal, don't want the players loading up on free endorphins.

Got to love comments like these - note, both are from the same person with the replying following them being told the details of audits findings being in the article I shared from on the previous page:

"Can you contextualise “minor”, Jon?

Are we talking about a couple of thousand, tens of thousands, or hundreds being paid to one player, ten or half the list via unreported third party payments?

That needs to be disclosed as to whether the level of “punishment” is worthy."

&

(But) "There are no payment figures detailed in the article."

----

It's like folks can't comprehend our issue was with paperwork, not hiding payments

facebook boomer conspiracy theorists have made up their minds that we are cheating the cap, so when it is reported that we aren't cheating the cap they can't actually ingest those facts and instead continue to chase their conspiracies

There is often a common denominator with those who are 'uncomprehending' about particular issues. And I think the following adage probably says it best...

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Derr Wayne struggling for attention.
