All told it is a very good get.
Besides the fact he is a double Premiership player with an elite team he was also part of rebuilding that team from being quite poor to what they are today.
He has been there and done that and prepared to do it again with a team in his home state rather than hang around where he is comfortable in a top team. Says a lot about him I think.

We have some versatility there in the back 6 - any of Baker, Hough, Starcevich or McCarthy can rotate through the middle it seems. I think we'd be remiss not to explore if he can be a mid, given his defensive nouse and size, but he's made a career out of being a very good lock down defender.

Not sure where that pace went!

I don’t love Starcevich on field, but you have to have senior players in your side who know how to build and maintain team success, and our club had very very few when McQualter joined.

You can’t just fill your squad with kids and wait for them to become a winning side. Ideally you have a continuous stock of senior players that allows you to focus on recruiting kids, but sometimes you have to go about it the hard way.

Starcevich seems like the right sort of senior player to bring in.

Helmets don’t do anything to help prevent concussion. Might help prevent a skull fracture but that’s about it.

It’s all about the movement of the brain tissue when copping a hit etc. those vibrations and a helmet does nothing to stop that. Could almost be counter productive
