God imagine that. A Matthew Nicks succession plan. This is why I don't want a succession plan
It helps when you have a fistful of top 10 draft picks that have been gifted to you.And possibly pulling off the coupe of all time if he can get Ugle Hagen back on track

I reckon he'll be well behaved early, but the Goldy is almost the worst place for a bloke like that. And possibly pulling off the coupe of all time if he can get Ugle Hagen back on track
If vb became our next head coach, watch for a very disgruntled supporter going out onto Adelaide Oval and tearing up his membership in complete disgustNicks for 3 more years without winning a final handing over the reins to VB. Lucky Chapman is gone, he’d be the type to buy completely into Nix’s veneer.
No draft capital to do anything else meaningful. They’ve had others like Thomas, Fantasia, Hombsch, Watts, Finlayson in the last decade.
They’ve shown when they draft high picks they usually nail them. Most of their best players are first round picks that they drafted themselves - Butters, Rozee, Georgiadis, Bergman. Berry will be a great player too.
I’m not sure why they recruit these fringe, mediocre types that end up discarded a few years later.

My young son a few years back wrote his christmas present list. One item on there was a million dollars. I guess if you don't ask you won't knowNorf asking for 2 x 1st rounders for Jy ****ing Simpkin? Deary me they are a joke of a club
Brisbane v gold coast for premierships will be the norm in the next 5 yearsI reckon we’re watching an absolute masterclass by Hardwick and the Suns. Over the course of two seasons he’s now offloaded the exact players (Lukosius, Fiorini, Ainsworth) I reckon were not made of the right stuff for a genuine hard-nosed premiership team.
In exchange he’s bringing in genuine guns and missing pieces (Noble, Rioli, Petracca) and on top of that holding firm on players (cf Humphrey) who may have a desire to explore other opportunities but whom he knows are an important part of the side.
No premiership is a cakewalk but I reckon he’s making all the right moves. Canny judgement plus ruthless execution.

Imagine playing Aliir, Ratugolea, Zerk-Thatcher and Lachie Jones all together as 4 of your back 6, surely not
Don't give Nicks ideas lol.Imagine playing Aliir, Ratugolea, Zerk-Thatcher and Lachie Jones all together as 4 of your back 6, surely not
Can you imagine if we rolled out Keane, Murray, Butts and Borlase all together
It's not sure it's really a new voice or a new gameplan though. It very much looked like Ken had mentally checked out and Carr was running the show already. It does, but things can turn pretty quickly, we've seen it in the past.
A new voice, a new game plan, a renewed player buy-in could see them have a Sando spike (you never know).
Their defence is the worry though. A couple of good players in there, but its whether the likes of Jones, Rat, BZT and Farrell can be given a role, and nail it, and whether the midfield can protect the ball coming in which will be the the key.
Their midfield is fine (albeit Butters could leave a gaping hole), and Georgiades is a star, but they will again need a dominant midfield most weeks to favour the forward line, and for the likes of DBJ, Lord, Luko to have bumper seasons. Unlikely you'd think. Don't think Brodie or Wehr will move the needle in any meaningful way for them. But yeah, overall, unless Carr is a genius, you'd think they just have too many average players to push too far up the ladder.

What's Rozee doing in the midfield? I thought he had to get cheap kicks down back these days.
If we did have a plan around moving Max into the midfield next season, we’d wouldn’t mind trying to bring in Logan Evans to help cover that spot in defence. It does, but things can turn pretty quickly, we've seen it in the past.

Appreciate you are comparing Logans ability but we have enough coverage - what with Edwards and co playing defense instead of midfieldIf we did have a plan around moving Max into the midfield next season, we’d wouldn’t mind trying to bring in Logan Evans to help cover that spot in defence.
I think he’s a much better player than a lot of the others they’ve named in that potential side.
Mac and cheese is gawn. Shows how professional trade radio is.

No way Lord plays if Marshall is fit. He’s a spud and a shit bloke to boot.
Does Brodie get a game with Wines and Drew in? I wouldn’t have thought so. Maybe Wines gets demoted?
Sinn hasn’t really come on but he’s in their best team now. Definitely in front of Mead.
