Maybe Hawthorn should have thought about that before approaching Zerrett though???No one in Hawks best 23 has any desire to play for Bombers. Will need to be more value in pick combos. Or he stays.
What time tonight does Essendon announce their new captain? Do they have a ceremony to strip the captain (current club B&F champion...again) and then tell him this is why we held you to your contract?
Why though?Maybe Hawthorn should have thought about that before approaching Zerrett though???

Might be a glitch on BF. I didn't say those words you responded to.Why though?
Morris says that if it was McKenzie instead of hh it would have gotten done. Morris has been hawks mouthpiece so maybe they are going to speak to McKenzie.
Only if Sheedy is thereI hope we announce it like our 150th pregame. And they walk out of a smoke filled tunnel just like hirdy!
Why should Hawthorn have checked if they had assets they could trade for Merrett before engaging in discussions to trade for Merrett? Why though?
I'm not sure it is though, being that bad for Hawthorn. Zach Merrit moves the needle for us yes, but if we flatten out for a year we are still in the top 9. Mitchell can show the playing group we tried to increase our talent pool but didn't sell the farm to do so.Mitchell is kinda backed into a corner here. On one hand, he goes all in for an exciting flag tilt. On the other, he looks like a twit to his 'time is now' playing group.
Hawthorn missing out on Merrett is worse for them than Merrett being held to his contract is for Essendon. Welsh knows this and is playing it well. The Hawks will offer up more and get their man and everyone here can stop pissing their pants.
Either that or Welshy proves himself a massive idiot (entirely possible) by forcring Merrett to stay and both clubs walk away as big losers from a trade fiasco.
9, 31, 43 and F1. Take it and run, Dons. Give your fans the only taste of success we can reasonably expect - wins in the trade period.
Nah we did the same with west coast last year and it worked out magnificently. Hopefully we pivot and find other ways to improve the club. The offer is way overs already, if they add a gun player we may aswell shut up shop. The poor aflw girls will be shattered that sexist pig zac merrett is back to terrorize them. I don’t know how Zac will be able to live with himself not living upto the extremely high standards that mason redman has setI think it was a fair offer by the hawks yesterday, but that reply by 7pm shit is some amateur hour clown shit.
Just a heads up its Merrett.I'm not sure it is though, being that bad for Hawthorn. Zach Merrit moves the needle for us yes, but if we flatten out for a year we are still in the top 9. Mitchell can show the playing group we tried to increase our talent pool but didn't sell the farm to do so.
What does retaining Zach do for Essendon's needle? Captain & Best player doesn't want to be there. Thats not great. Needle moves down
Does retaining him improve the list, no, but needless doesn't drop

Whats so hard to understand that Zach and his manager approached the Hawks, not the other way round?Maybe Hawthorn should have thought about that before approaching Zerrett though???
Disagree.
Zachs a sook sure, but he is a professional. Plenty of upside keeping him. Sets good training standards and will show the young guys on our list the desire to win. We already have a large amount of draft picks.
Our needle cant really drop more than it has.
I think the Hawks offer was OK for us to trade him, but clearly we wont more. I am OK with backing Rosa in.
Merrett's manager made contact.Maybe Hawthorn should have thought about that before approaching Zerrett though???
Why? As reported multiple teams have asked about pick 9. If essendon don't want to do a deal why should that stop us from doing anything?I think it was a fair offer by the hawks yesterday, but that reply by 7pm shit is some amateur hour clown shit.
Regardless if they wanted a trade to happen they surely thought what players they would be willing to give up that Essendon would be interested in too?? They had time to plan....Whats so hard to understand that Zach and his manager approached the Hawks, not the other way round?
Don't think it can happen without a medical, and Mitch is overseasRight now im staring at a picture of Mitch Lewis and be like
"Just take it, take the money"
