2025 List Management Discussion - Part 5

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Kornes saying "why do they wait so long, until the last day?, I know they love us hanging around talking about this stuff all week but why do they drag it out" has to be one of the funniest ****ing things ive seen in a while :moustache:
He's soooo close to reaching full consciousness

Legit.

Took a half hearted nothing swing that they knew would never work at Wilkie then went “welllll… I’m all out of ideas”.

I ****inf despise Steven May but if I was the dogs I would have at least had a look.
That's the thing, it could have worked if they were willing to part with serious players they could afford to lose and still contend.

Sam Power is a complete f**king flog and they are going to miss their window without a serious back line for the super serious club.

Unwilling to make hard decisions and they'll pay the consequences.

( Also don't blame them at all for not looking at May not even a 1/3 of the player he was and the bloke is a f**king cancer that people put up with while they were winning )

Even Petoro commenting on Essendon focusing on youth and that being better than Merret.

Youre a player manager not a list manager and not even part of the Essendon football club, you have absolutely no right to comment on what they view as being important to them.
These managers are shocking.
Maybe they should explain the implications of signing a long term deal / extension to their clients before they help them do it.

Actually, maybe someone should explain the consequences of doing so to them.

Or a shorter one
That's different. There'd be no ability to drag things out...

A longer period is fine (and good for clubs) as long as it is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuch longer. I have proposed from Grand Final night until early February.

Let's see them try to maintain trade radio for months. They won't, and it'll die.

So in last week's presser Gubby was saying there still might be a surprise. I'm guessing now the surprise was not taking Aleer?

Managers threatening clubs to do deals or else should have their AFL accreditation revoked.

Scumbags.

Don't worry I know the history of cricket and baseball, I just mean cricket is the malnourished pasty backwards cousin of baseball. I dont even like baseball, but its a hell of a lot more compelling than cricket. Too olde worlde for me.

Yes, football is going to have to fill the void for me, but I am bracing myself for the bigfooty posts to contain nought but cricket references over the summer 🥱
Funny, all these years and I never took you for a philistine 🤣
