Delisted Callum Ah Chee - Joins Adelaide via the PSD

He is not going to sit out of the competition if he doesn't get to Adelaide. He is a pro.
And clubs are pro, they not going to offer a contract to a player who he didn't even talk to them. Like Twomey said, he will get to us through the PSD if he still wants to.

Again, F2 was fair (had we offer F3 then the media would be giving us shit for not getting the trade done). A contracted ANB went for pick 28 just last year (his stats this year has been better than Ah Chee and we finished minor premiers), an uncontracted Ah Che is worth pick 30-35 which is the value of our F2.

It is not fair, that future 2 is worth 35 at best in a best case scenario, it's basically nothing. I hope you remember this when you have an out of contract player, I assume you'd be happy accepting junk of which half you wouldn't use? That's fair is it?

I don't see how a pick slide and it didn't even have to involve the first rounders was not fair, literally could have slid two thirds for a second in both 26' and 27' that would have been fair too. There were a number of slides that Brisbane put up wasn't just one.

I don't know if the crows could of embarrased themselves more over the last 2 months. They certainly aren't carrying themselves like a professional team that will attract good people to their organisation moving forward. Their fans are pretty feral too which makes them an even shittier proposition to deal with.
So because Adelaide didnt give Brisbane a first rounder for someone not worth it, they have embarrassed themselves? Huh. I then dont understand how everyone in the media has been on Adelaide's side with this trade.

And I get that, but a club like the Eagles, Tigers and Kangaroos who have huge cap space should take a risk here IMO.

Why not, a club like West Coast who are they paying, an extra $500k means fck all and would take that into consideration when trading the following year.
Nah. West Coast are trying to build a team with players who have the right attitude and want to play for them. Doing that and bringing a disgruntled player in who said he didnt want to go there, for over a million a year, does not help build a culture.

This post clearly demonstrates that you have no understanding of the new dvi, let alone the new bid matching rules that come in to effect in 2026.

Your F2 & F3 isn’t worth close to 500 points.

Using this years current draft order, where compensation picks have been handed out, and for arguments sake you finished 6th, so have the 13 pick in the second round, that pick falls at pick 36, worth 317 points.

Your third round pick would fall at pick 56 and be worth 0 points.

And that’s before fathers son or academy bids start impacting the draft order.

That isn't even considering whether the 'two pick' rule comes in too, these second rounders become less and less valuable next season. This is the last year of them still being quite valuable to a degree albeit in a shockingly rated draft. If Hodge is rated at 5-10, you will need your normal first rounder and one fairly close to it

I said I would have done 2026 F2 and 2027 F2 so mpal6's head can explode lol.

you're right. The last 6- 8 weeks from your club has been fantastic. Good work Derick

Why not just do the slide, it's actually cheaper, but that would be at least better than the rubbish third rounder attached that's worth nothing.

(Hodge is a late-round consideratino at best, we have 2 academy rort options that will be the priority pending how their top age year goes).

I’ll be bloody surprised if Hodge is rated top 30 next year.

It’s our two academy kids who should be our priority.

Just using it as a example, I don't think people are getting how these changes impact the 'picks' you can use. This is the last of the farcical albeit less bad years.

Going by what his manager said, what's your "understanding"?????
Haven't listened, don't care. Maybe I should though - player managers are notoriously scrupulous and honest and can see the bigger picture.

Was just interested whether it was an opinion or you were claiming it as a fact.

Have they? Everyone? You're talking about trade radio right? Or whatever the show is on FoxFooty? Programs with a vested interest in trades being completed. And from media who constantly get our players' names wrong and generally have a sub-par understanding of any footy team north of Mildura even those who've won premierships.

Well, it sound like Dom also "didn't care" whether Ah Che got traded or not after listening to his interview. First time I've heard him, what a prick.

How so? One of the offer from Brisbane was a 2026 F2 and 2027 F2 and given how compromise 2027 draft is, the value probably end up pick 30-35.
That was our compromise offer.

It’s the “two pick rule” taking effect, combined with picks having a lower points value.

We already have Melbourne’s third round pick next year, that should retain a points value.

So our first round pick, your second & our second, plus Melbourne’s third cover our two academy kids (hopefully).

Our natural third and your third round pick most probably have 0 value points wise, so are useless for matching a bid that requires points.

And if a team needs to match a late bid that has 0 points value, well you can match with an 8th round pick. That’s the “value” your future 3rd round pick has. Zero, nothing sfa.

Your 2027 F2 hopefully would have still held value in a draft where we have between 2 & 4 academy kids on our radar.
