Don't see those contracts holding up in court
I just had a brief read of contract law in the US and even though there has been a federal law passed eliminating some non compete clauses depending on the state law of the contract they can be enforceable. I'm willing to bet Connecticut is one such state.

that was 50% of the comments in the reddit thread where I linked the picture from.
Really?
HAHAHA.
It was between that and Cruella/Ursula for me.

I can kind of see the point behind the 1 yr clause on the contracts.
They're trying to stop someone deciding they don't want to be in the company- so they start a fight backstage, deck the boss etc which would lead to their termination so they can go wherever they want.
And would likely only apply to maybe 1% of releases.

Still, not a fan.

Meltzer also reported that WWE has already experimented with AI via Writer Inc, an AI-based platform, but with less than desirable early results.

“(The platform) pitched a storyline where Bobby Lashley, who I guess AI thought was still with the company, could come back as a wrestler who was obsessed with Japanese culture and history. But the feeling is once bugs are worked out that AI will begin to have major impact on storyline direction,” he wrote, adding another unnamed promotion also tried out AI for the creative side but found whatever they were using couldn’t understand wrestling storylines.

Of course they would do this. It's all about saving money.

I think using AI to come up with ideas that the writers might not think of is an appropriate use.
I.e coming up with points to hit.

But shouldn't be written by AI, leave that to the meat suits.

the AI booking I asked ChatGPT to generate begs to differ. that was a fever dream and a half

Ilja is such a beast, both physically and in the ring. Really enjoyed that match. Seems they want to make up for lost time too with the title win.

Interesting where Sami goes from here.
