Special Rules
Veterans
Offering a veteran contract beats any bid and is unbeatable. Once you offer the veteran contract, they become untradeable so you will keep them for 2026. You can have up to four veterans - your first veteran is free, second costs $170k, third costs $340k and fourth costs $680k.

• Existing veterans under contract must be retained as veterans for 2026 unless traded, amnestied or paid out on the contract they signed before being re-veteranised.
• Existing uncontracted veterans can be moved back to the senior list via the bidding process. Opponents can bid on them and they can be traded.
• Contracted eligible veterans can be added to the veterans list - if they have more than 1 year to go, be aware that they will be taking up a veterans list spot for all that time they are contracted. As soon as you do anything else with the player, that takes the veteranising option off the table.
• Uncontracted eligible veterans have normal bidding/trading rules until given a veterans contract. If a bid of more than one year is made on before this, the veteran contract must be for the length of the latest bid (there is no benefit making them longer).
• A player cannot be veteranised if you are also leading the current bidding for that player.
