Let's remember Dangerfield has been President of the Player's Association. Hocking was in charge of AFL Football Operations. Followed by Geelong coach Chris Scott's twin brother. Selwood has some sort of AFL role.

No doubt the Cats are running a deliberate campaign to get as many people associated with their club into key AFL roles as possible.

I would have thought other clubs would be getting wise to this and trying to block any further influence.

AFL Launches Bold Reform Agenda: Promises to “Drain the Swamp,” Appoints Craig Drummond as Chairman

In a sweeping reform agenda designed to “drain the swamp” and restore trust in the game, the AFL today unveiled its latest leadership overhaul—featuring the appointment of respected businessman and former Geelong President Craig Drummond as Chairman.

League officials hailed the move as a “fresh start” for Australian football, promising to bring in “strong leadership and deep football experience.” In an unexpected coincidence, most of that experience appears to come from the same postcode.

“We’re absolutely committed to cleaning things up,” said one senior official. “And if that means appointing a few familiar faces who once wore the blue and white hoops—well, that’s just meritocracy at work.”

Insiders say the league’s reform push will see the installation of a new “Integrity Taskforce,” reportedly chaired by a past Geelong Best and Fairest winner, supported by a rotating panel of former Cats greats.

The AFL also announced plans to review umpiring decisions, tribunal processes, and fixture fairness—just as soon as they finish the new executive retreat centre in South Geelong.

“We’re here to drain the swamp,” Drummond said at his first press conference, surrounded by smiling former teammates and a suspicious number of navy and white ties.
