Not sure, but its a korean car brand

Looks like it is an acronym for Korea Green Mobility - KG seems to be some sort of holding company and the M was added when they acquired what was SsanYong Motors - thanks to Wikipedia

So Matthew Lokan has been appointed VFL coach.
Any thoughts?
I know nothing about his coaching CV, but he's another one who has come "home".
He seems to have spent a fair bit of time in development roles, which is a good thing.

Good to see Lokan return to the club, but not an overwhelming coaching record...

Glenelg coach for 54 games. Won 18, Lost 34 and 2 Draws

Port Adelaide coach 72 games. Won 34, Lost 36 and 2 Draws

Interesting appointment. Am super portant job considering where our list is at. We need the kids to come on quick.

Not too fussed about wins and losses - if the youth
Developed then that is positive.

I had a “chat” with a friend and got this feedback….

Putting the above together, the broad perception of Matthew Lokan as a coach is roughly:

  • Positive: He is viewed as a thoughtful coach, strong in development, structure, and process. He has built up credibility in SANFL circles and has steadily progressed through coaching roles.
  • Constructively cautious: There is recognition he is still proving his capacity to deliver consistently high results in senior league football. When games/stages become highly competitive, the conversion of structure into wins is a watchpoint.
  • Fit-for-role nuance: Many see him as well-suited to environments where building, development and preparing young players is key. If placed in a club expecting immediate premiership results with a mature list, perceptions might lean to “Is he the right coach for a fast turnaround?” rather than “he can’t coach”.

Did the same for Goldy…

Putting it together, the broad perception of Tyson Goldsack as a coach is:

  • Positive, with promise: He has all the ingredients – professional playing experience, development orientation, early coaching roles. Clubs clearly trust him enough to move him into significant roles.
  • Upside highlighted, but proof pending: Because he’s relatively new as a senior line-coach (and only one year as SANFL senior coach) people are watching how he manages bigger challenges: consistent performance, high-pressure decision-making, leading full AFL-level squads.
  • Seen as a good fit for development/defence environment right now: He appears well-suited to roles where building defensive groups or younger lists is key. Whether he becomes a “full senior head coach” (AFL-level) in future may depend on how he handles those broader demands.

So Matthew Lokan has been appointed VFL coach.

Yeah, our VFL blokes will now have hair that is soft and shiny.

Other clubs releasing new kits for next season meanwhile the Pies are about to run with the same supplier for a sixth consecutive year 💔

I will see the back of Nike one day… one day…

Agree. Nike have been underwhelming.

The designs of the casual clothes have been so lame.

I haven’t liked a single version of our kit since we signed with them. The quality is horrendous, all you have to do is look back to how they treated Carlton.

I wish the club would experiment with new cool designs like other clubs do, but having Nike supplying them makes it difficult.

Puma is nailing it at the moment.

Yep it will favour them.

You only need to look at Cox as an example. He was a good to very good centre square ruckman under the old rules, but very ordinary at around the ground ball ups and boundary throw ins where he was wrestled out the way.
I wonder if the mooted rule changes had a role in his delisting.

Also, as Darcy Cameron is almost certainly the second best ruckman in the league behind Gawn, how TF does that not qualify his as “A-grade” for journos? The top 3-4 in the league should all be in consideration unless the position is historically bad right now…
