It can’t really get harder in terms of the double ups. The key is the single games. Eagles away and teams like Saints/Dogs at home should be 2 wins. Reverse that and it’s a % booster and a 50/50.

It can get a lot harder in terms of double up games next year.

Adelaide double up games last year (3 bunnies):
  • North Melbourne, Collingwood, Gold Coast, Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and West Coast
Brisbane's (no bunnies):
  • Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs.

Brisbane no bunnies? GC has beaten them a couple of times in their entire history...

The Showdown is always consider 50/50 despite the ladder position of both team. The Bulldogs were "bunnies" against the top 8 and Sydney was shit this year, we smashed them by 90 points at the SCG lol.

We play 10 games away from AO.
Hopefully 2 at MCG and 2 at Marvel.
Almost certain is our obligatory trips to Tassie and Windy Hill Ballarat.
Add at least one each to WA and QLD, and likely another trip to one of those states, takes us up to 9 games.

So that means one journey to one of the cattery (most likely IMO), Canberra/Syd (Pretty please?) or NT.

That's just marketing. Port were paying $5.5 and it would have been longer if the marketing didn't convince some Port punters that the Showdown is a 50/50 game. You were going to thrash them and did.

Sure they "travel" as much as other Vic teams numbers wise. But when did they last travel to Tassie? Or Darwin? Or Alice Springs? Or Canberra? Or shit, even Kardinia Park or Ballarat?

When did any of the big drawing clubs? Bombers, Cats, Carlton, Hawks, can’t recall any of them travelling to those places. Except Hawks and their second home in Tassie.

That's exactly how it should be

A 17 round draw. Play everyone once. Then straight into the same 17 round draw with venues flipped.

Start the next season wherever you got up to and it continues on
Yeah but the simple solution doesn’t make it equal each year.
So the afl have come up with a plan that does?? 😂 so we have this typical fair but not fair solution we have now.

We matchup terribly against Freo.

Nicks and Longmuir were hired at, pretty much, the same time. Nicks is 1-5 against Longmuir and Freo.
Nicks is 0-1 to flies in the coaches box.
At least he's had a win against freo.

So Collingwood complained about it last year after getting belted by GWS, and are now playing St Kilda? Is that in Melbourne? I thought the whole point of it was capitalising in QLD & NSW...
played on the mcg without giving up a home game

Why are Saints and Pies part of opening round?
It’s really becoming more an everyone except SA and WA opening weekend. It’s weird

All of NSW play
All of Qld play
6/10 Vic teams play

2 other states fully locked out with no genuine build up to the season opening

It's a farce. Dillion is as inspiring as a parking fine.
