I can definitely critique them. Just because they won a flag doesn’t mean you have to act like a dick to one of your premiership players. Remember, they shafted him, not us!

"Standing their ground", which backfired in two ways - 1) they got nothing, and 2) it further exposed the Academy as a rort by willingly walking away from picks because they don't value them.

Credit where credit is due - they have won two flags but it doesn’t completely excuse yourself from critique.

I’m in the camp that they got this wrong.

Firstly - clubs want players and agents to be more transparent - Ah Chee told them back in May of his intentions to move to Adelaide and the Lions knew they could not match Adelaide’s offer.

- Our trade offer and additionally options was judged as more than fair by most industry experts - considering AH Chee has never placed in the Lions top 10 BnF

- After trade period the Lions recruiting manager went on record in saying, the non-trade was less related to trade value but more to do with having one more crack to contract AH Chee with full knowledge that they couldn’t match the contract and AH Chee desire to move to Adelaide

Clubs can’t ask for more transparency from Agents and Players and when they do get a player who gives them that transparency they completely burn them in the process

Regardless of being back to back premiers - they got this wrong

Probably not quite equal to, but this guy is another Jordan Dawson get. Not in how he got to us but in the value he'll bring to the team. Reckon Daws turned out to be a really great surprise. Knew he was good but never expected him to rise to the player he is now, but IMO with Ah Chee, we already know what we're getting, and I bloody love it!.

Also proven in big games on top of his other attributes.

Yeah he's a good get. Given he's coming from back to back flags he'll also have that ANB experience factor, but likely also with more on field output. Hard to be upset at getting him for free.

Now let's just hope he can add another club to the list of clubs he averages more than 1 goal against, since that list currently contains us and only us.
