What player in their right mind would actually CHOOSE to play for Essendon.
Their delusional fanbase actually think they can lure big fish like Weddle when half their playing list was injured this year.
Someone do their club a favour and just close the doors for good before they cripple more young promising athletes.

If they could lure Weddle, they'd have done it during trade period. IF they really waited till after to make him an offer they are out of their minds. They tried and couldn't convince him, or anyone other than Hustwaite to join them. We got their best player asking to come to us.
It's disappointing that it didn't get done. But we have good players trying to get to our club, they have players trying to get out.

Going down to the bottom of the ladder is the worst outcome right now. They along with few other clubs will be in football oblivion for years to come. The Tassie drafts are gonna be brutal. Bottom clubs will not have access to real high end talent plus no A grader is going to go to them to make them better.
They're gonna be the 'anti-destination club' for the best part of a decade.

What an awfully weak draft to have so many picks to improve your list. Robey will get found out in the big time, there's too much hubris/ arrogance in him for a half frwd. Farrow is the pick off the bunch. Sharp? Meh. Just a young mix of parish/ heppel who I don't rate .

Slowly changing narrative from he’s not leaving to should have let him go but it’s all Sam Mitchell’s fault for not offering a war chest package. Also ZM should have offered to go anywhere to maximise the package. It’s just so delusional.
Hawks clearly the best Victorian team armed with draft capital that was contending. Imagine what they would have been offered from Geelong or Collingwood.
I will take great joy in Essendons Groundhog Day season 2026, where they are a rabble, and their 10 game former captain once again tries to leave.
What’s the going rate for a 31 year old non captain that only played 10 games in the season? Well, it’s not 4 first rounders I know that much.
Round 1 can’t come quick enough. Get me there.
