Shout out to Ja'Quan McMillian and Vance Joseph too. 2 sacks in huge moments and a big time int. Vance Joseph had the balls to dial up those nickel CB blitzes in the biggest moments and Ja'Quan got there, huge calls and execution.

Felt like he was bringing that nickel cb blitz where they'd normally be blitzing Hufanga who's been great in those spots too. Threw something new out there in a big game against the Chiefs.

The streak continues... plenty of butthurts around BigFooty about it haha
Fook em! Coming off the bye we were rusty as... seemed to try new things on D which I didn't like.
The Commanders played an awesome game, and probably deserved to win that one... except for a few clutch plays on our side.
On the road again to Vegas next week

Looked sluggish off the bye, defence in particular. Missed tackles in the backfield and on sacks hurt. Gotta finish those plays

Nix looked horrific in the first qtr then woke up, made some great passes and even stood calmly in the pocket a couple of times, great signs. Still an anaemic run game and too many drops, but the O overall looked better imo.

Broncos can't keep escaping games by the skin of their teeth. Wins are wins, but the offense has to get it together. That game (vs WSH) never should have gone to OT. If they don't start playing better, they will be one-and-done again once they face a Buffalo, LA, or Baltimore.

Close wins within a season aren't a concern, but we'll struggle to be in the playoffs next year if we don't improve significantly.

AFC is the most even conference I've ever seen, several teams who are genuinely level vying to win it - Broncos/Pats/Texans/Colts/Ravens/Bills/Chiefs, Chargers dropping off due to injury and Jags not quite there.

In the NFC it's the Rams and Seahawks, Rams in front due to better QB/Coach. Eagles will be in with a shot if Hurts and Sirianni can figure out how to do their jobs

Anyone else sick of reading the negativity towards Bo? Always referencing his QB Rating and completion percentages and how low it is?
One thing that struck me in the Commanders game was the amount of times that Collinsworth referenced how very little Bo gets sacked, and how he can escape the tackle and get the ball away.
So I looked at the stats... Bo has been sacked a total of 13 times in 12 games!

Let's look at the list of QB sacks
Cam Ward 12 games / 48 sacks
Geno Smith 12 / 46
Drake Maye 13 / 40
Justin Herbert 12 / 38
Trevor Lawrence / 32
Josh Allen 12 / 28
Patrick Mahomes 12 / 27
Lamar Jackson 9 / 227
Jalen Hurts 12 / 27
Justin Fields 9 / 27
Jacoby Brissett 9 / 26
Jared Goff 12 / 26
Tua Tagovailoa 12 / 25
Baker Mayfield 12 / 24
...
...
...
All the way down in 35th position?
Bo Nix 12 games / 13 sacks

So my point is... if Bo takes 30 more sacks instead of incompletions from throwing the ball away, his Completion Percentage rises to 68.5% which would rank him 7th instead of 27th (61.6%).

So perhaps it's just a little more than "luck" that keeps being referenced... I'm thinking that Bo is protecting field position and not taking those big losses, giving the team better chances by not falling into 3rd and long situations too often.

Great result for us today. Pat's INT changed the course of the game.
Bo was great I thought, and the D in the second half really controlled it.
Essentially got a 2 game lead in the AFC being a game clear and holding the tie breaker against the Pats.

Pat looked determined to make that play as well, he knew he had to stand up as a leader. Up until that moment the D was being beaten seemingly easily by the Packers, after that they got their swagger back.

Broncos get dominated by the Jags. Offense was anemic again. Sorry, but this Broncos team reeks of a team that will go one-and-done in the playoffs. Their offense can't be depended on.

I've felt the defence teetering for a few weeks now. They haven't been as dominant for a while now and have been gettable.

I wonder if this may be a "good" loss to a point. Would rather some flaws get exposed now with time to fix it than in the playoffs.

I agree Coops... Since the bye the D has been "getting by" on a couple of big plays.
This loss was needed... If we had won yesterday, I could've seen us coasting against the depleted Chiefs next week, then resting a few against the Chargers. Now we still need to go all out and play after this "loss reset" which can only do our chances in the playoffs the world of good.
Let's see how they respond over the next two weeks.

Dropping in after a few absent years, hope that's ok.

I watched the new Elway doco on Netflix yesterday and very much enjoyed it. As far as quality goes it's definitely not in the top shelf of documentaries but it does tell his story well, and seeing him looking back at the incredible memories and stories was quite moving. He is a good person and his family are lovely. Worth a watch for sure.

As for yesterday, like others are saying this was the loss we needed. Going into playoffs on a massive winning streak is a recipe for disaster in any sporting code. You could see the lack of focus and sometimes lack of effort clearly. It sets up a big final game v Chargers. Can't wait to see how this all plays out.

As much as I hope we do well this post-season, I'm really looking forward to what we can do next season.

With Wilson's dead money gone I expect us to go for at least 2 receivers, maybe 3 (including a TE in that). I haven't ever really liked Engram and wasn't overly excited by his inclusion, I think we'd need a proper 3 down TE instead of a package TE.

We're amongst the top for dropped passes and yards lost by dropped passes, solving that alone would dramatically improve us.
