Either way Uncle Venker its a historical fact that our performances on GF are historically shit, worse even than our regularly historical shitness.

If you want to pretend that's not some psychological bullshit then that's your business. Think what you like about it.

Take it to the excuses thread you absolute lunatic

Its what's happened every GF except one. What makes you think it would change and why?

We’ve won 19 games this decade, not sure you can pinpoint just Good Friday as an outlier

But continue to make excuses

This is exactly where we are at.
It's like a 5 month question that will linger and linger until we get our answer. I'm all for supporting wholeheartedly until the moment we receive our answer which we sure as hell will come our date with our mates from Sth Gawler.

They usually eat us.

I'm dreading the day already...outwardly positive but internally concerned, I wanna write on a whiteboard:

North or Norf - up to you campaigners!

Vamos, carajo
Wardlaw doesn't belong anywhere near this list lol. To be a leader you first need to be reliable on the field. He isn't consistent yet and isn't durable yet
Yep. And how many heart and soul players need to be skipper? Just stay able and alive. He is worth 2 goals, we have to be a 2 goal better team when he's out there and fit.

Jason Horne fabian won't play, but yes I hope Sleevo does, would make our job that bit easier.

Fun fact Poort rang and spoke to one of our coaches re Sleevo, and were told **** no! But yet here we are lol.
I'm with you, there's no chance he plays.

But continue to make excuses

2018 was the last time we didn't get flogged in a Good Friday game.

Usually next time we play the same side its much closer and sometimes we win, like last year. Frankly mental issues have probably cost us five or six games (at least) of the eight or nine we could have won and lost small margins in the last two seasons. Well since the bye 2024. Didn't help that one of those games was stolen by a cheated goal review and probably ****ed any confidence in our ability to win against good sides. It certainly contributed to those mental issues.

But if we don't deal with them we'll never go anywhere.

Next year our best young players will be hitting their primes, our best older players will be in their physical peaks and there are no excuses for not showing a significant increase in performance.

Clarkson's first season and a half were dominated by the racism scandal. WE won three games (two of them in his first two games coaching us.) By the bye in his second season the heat had gone out of it and he seemed to be in a much better headspace. In the season and a half since we've won nearly three times that many games - eight and a draw.

If this trend keeps up we should win over 20 games between r1 2026 and the bye 2027. Last time he finished third last it took him three seasons to win a flag. We finished third last this year. If we extend him past 2027 it should be with the expectation that we are a chance for the flag in 2028.

They should probably be the expectations now, after one (and a half?) season of clear air. We have enough talent and we should have the coaching staff now.

People who think writing off the first two seasons (or one and a half) because of the racism scandal and other bullshit, not accepting last season was his first real crack at it are foolish but he's had that time now. He's got the players, they're young but they're also generally very talented, and he's got the staff.

And he's got two years to turn us into a serious contender or top four side.

The time for excuses has passed.

Very well said

So it seems a big part of next season injuries aside of course. Will be the inclusion of Goater, Archer, Spargo and George. That's a little exciting to me anyways. They combined for 3 games in 2025.
And why it excites me is they've been around for a bit, so not underdeveloped kids. I realise Spargo isn't most folks cup of tea, but he is better than the dross we've been serving up for the best part of six seasons
Most inexperienced is George and next seasons his third year at the club. Further excitement stems from the thought, if those four come in, who's the four going out?

Is Spargo gonna play? Geez

I reckon our mission of producing the shortest side in history is definitely reachable.

I'd love to know the aggregate height to compare against other Dwarfies/short ass teams historically.

It's right up my alley.

Ha I doubt they all play CS1.
One year deals
1. Banch
2. Konstanty
3. Harvey ( backline now )
4. Hansen Jnr

two plus
1. Spargo
2. Dovaston

How many of the first group can you honestly see being on the list in 2027. I see as per below.

1766383872487.png

Yes fyi that's nun :)

Maybe one of Banch/Konstanty get themselves a further 12 months. So come 2027 we will have 3 small fwds, with Dovastan still learning the caper.

That first group cost us zip and zero at the draft table. With that in mind I have no issue with having six small fwds if you end up finding 2 decent ones and the others aren't given five bloody years to show you they're no good. Get 'em in, and them move 'em out. A bit more quicksticks is required.

Still shake me Billy Noggin at how the farks Phillips got 5 years.

We shall see

When all else fails, don't ever bet against Nepo Babes. You're doing your wallet a disservice.

Funnily enough, and you are a funny munt; Harvey can, he has the talent to make something of himself. Come on Hudson's Brother.

I ****ing belieb. I'm also a Duursma belieber. For someone out of faith, I sure as **** belieb in these two.

Bloody heck, I received a maybe rd 1( based on training) team from an avid track watcher and it's not bad, we're definitely improving our depth, not sure why I did this next. Went back and had a look at the side that managed this result.
1766454776524.png
in this side the below played.

1. B Scott- cooked
2. L Shiels - retired
3. H Greenwood - retired
4. J Ziebell- retired
5. J Stephenson- sacked
6. C Taylor- delisted
7. B Magoo- traded
8. M Bergman- delisted
9. J Mahony- delisted
10. F Perez- delisted
11. P Spicer- delisted
12. B Drury- delisted
13. D Tucker- delisted
14. T Goldstein- delisted/ since retired
15. A Corr- no longer best 23

Good grief that side is/was a steaming pile of in the words of D Hawkins namure. And that's ok, is what it is/was. But it has had me contemplating our rise up the ladder, that bloody side took to the field in 2023, hardly a life time ago.
Was rather surprised by the above. Maybe we are in fact further away than I first thought. Cripes

Not something that I intend to research, but I wonder how many teams have ****ed off 15 players from their Rd 9 2023 line up?

All kinds of ****ed up isn't. Has to be a record, wtf were we doing. And that side couldn't fit in Phillips or Ford.

Drury/Spicer LOL FML

It's the opposite I think, we're coming like a freight train.

We're improving by the second. I'm excited for the first time since 1/4 time in the 2014 semi. It's been a while.

Care sharing this rd 1 line up?

All this "woe is me" posting that's taken over the board again is ****ing tiresome. Be nice to read something interesting.

Yes well I'm the one with $100 at ten dollar for the cool return of 1K on the line. And see below

I asked the question about the now, who's doing well on the track type stuff. As if playing tomorrow, was just a chat really, to pass the ( work) time of day

Hardeman Logue Archer/Pink

McDonald Comben McKercher

FOS LDU Simpkin

Spargo Trembath Banch

Zurhaar Larkey Curtis

Xerri Powell ( eyes rolled) Sheezel

Wardlaw Darling Parker Stephens Daniel.

So my mind whenever anyone suggests a side, I look at who isn't selected and then cast my mind back to the team that got flogged by Poort.

Missing Good Goad, Duursma, Dovaston, Whitlock, Dawson, Pink ( unlucky), George, Goater, Thredgold, Corr, CCJ, Urqhart, Mikunda and Konstanty.

Now regardless of your personal views those above are better than 75% of the 15 players moved on since the rd 9 clash 2023 against Poort. And ladies and gentlemen, that's some ****ing depth or will be by 2027. And the last couple got on the list because that rd 9 side contained Spicer, Mahony ( stiff I think he's better than Hansen ) Bergman and bloody Drury

Powell in the starting mid rotation. Bet I can guess who's line up that is.... 🤪

The good thing about this line-up is that, being in such close proximity to each other, the 's' on the end of Stephens' name can be lifted and applied to Daniel if they both struggle

FWIW (maybe not much) Zero Hangar rank our list 12th (D17, M7, F11) fractionally ahead of Port Adelaide. On that basis a reasonable season expectation should be win week one and push toward the fringe of the wildcard stumble (to call it a race is too much).

I thought you'd never ask, here's one I prepared earlier... plan is to break even at 1/2 time and then run all over Fabian Horne-Francis and his ****stick fraudulent mates, with a bench to die for. Hold is what we have to do. Hold, then a fresh Xerri and Wardlaw to unleash hell on a barely fit Horne Fabian-Francis in the 2nd half. BGZ with 4, the Rising Star Nom and 6 weeks for his callous elbow to Horne-Fabian's Nose.

2026 R1

B: Archer-Dawson-Logue
HB: Harvey-BT-Hardeman
C: Goater-Sheezel-Dovaston
HF: PC-Comben-Trembath
F: Zurhaar-Larkey-George
R: Goad-LDU-McKercher
I/C: Parker - Xerri - Duursma - FOS - Wardlaw

Em: Banch - Powell - Pink - Darling - Daniel - JK - Whitlock - Stephens - McDonald - Urquhart - Simpkins

As long as we can move the ball from point A to Point B (Point B being the goal being kicked) then we're golden.

If we keep doing the good ol' move the ball as convoluted as possible relying on individual brilliance from Sheezel or a freak goal from PC, we're going nowhere. There needs to be unconditional purpose in our movement of the footy.
