Gulden, Papley and McDonald missed a lot of footy. Add Charlie and these 3 and I can’t see them not making the eight.
I hope it's a stationary wrestling Curnow... trying to wrestle Weiterbot.but is it lace out to a moving curnow, or lace out to a stationary and wrestling curnow?

What’s the bet the AFL try and use the Curnow Carlton Sydney trade as a way to help their precious opening round (yes Carlton wanted no piece of it this year, but watch them try)
OR
Friday Night Sydney v Carlton SCG
Round 1
Thursday Night Richmond v Carlton MCG
Round 2
Friday Night St Kilda v Carlton MCG
Probably see GC v Melb in OR too & Essendon v Hawthorn on the Sunday as the only game in Melbourne.
It’s a TV & promoting dream for the AFL. Charlie doing his first walk to the SCG, opening the season in Sydney against Carlton

Is it such a big deal to take off broadway? I don’t know if I’m being controversial here & everyone else prefers the prime fixture slots. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel sometimes as a club we get prime time burn out, a heap of Thursday & Friday nights in a row, bang a Sunday afternoon & we have no energy. We may have no choice as after the year we had I’ve no doubt the AFL will take us off-Broadway (or threaten to) unless we agree to some of those fixtures.
And I’ve no doubt that the AFL will trip over themselves to get St Kilda on prime time to show that profligately spending money like a drunken sailor in a whorehouse now makes them a “destination club”.![]()

Personally I’d prefer Saturday afternoon as my partner works saturdays and it’s easier to watch with less questions like “wait what’s happening” “who is he again” “what’s that free kick mean” or my fav “oh you are going to be in a bad mood as they are losing again aren’t you?”

I think it's simpler, more effective, and a lot more likely to just hope for Dean Cox being a really shit coachA freakish run of flu, gastroenteritis and other 48 hour debilitating ailments is ok though I think
My wife says I’ve been in a bad mood for the past 30 years.
She much prefers weekends during the summer.![]()
gotcha thanksWe get whatever picks are tied to their ladder position. Similar to Hawthorn getting pick 9 (which was tied to our ladder position this year) while we got 10 (from the TDK compensation). If Sydney get another pick from FA compensation it wont affect us. Sydney trading in any other R1 picks doesn't affect us either.

This thread needs to not disappear into the ether. Front and centre always!!!
Swans still haven’t managed a win which I’m loving
If we can jag a win against the Swans in opening round, they then face Brisbane in Sydney followed by a trip to Melbourne to take on the Hawks.
I’m predicting the Swans to be 0-3 or 1-3 after their first 3 games which will put mounting pressure on them. With many predicting them to go deep into finals, the more pressure this team can come under and the earlier, the better imo.
picks involved or not, we are always deathriding essendon and collingwoodIf the Swans are 1-3 after the first 3 games then surely the AFL are doing a dodgy
I do wish we had picked an easier team to death ride like Bumbers, Tiggers, Pies, Hawks, Saints or Port
Count me in though

And quality teams will know where the ball is going 80% of the time and defend accordingly,Charlie ain’t in the Buddy league.Gulden and co kicking to Charlie lace out is scary though.
2-2 at bestI’ll eat Andrew Walker’s hat if Sydney are 1-3 after 3 games.![]()
No.Is it inappropriate to hope for injuries?
TA
I'm not gonna sit back and hope for their best players to cop injuries.
Don't have to, just wish for the entire team to have gastro. Is it inappropriate to hope for injuries?
