Hat-tricks. When going across multiple overs or innings, they should only count if the bowler bowls the next available over.

So if you take wickets on the last two deliveries of an innings, you need to open the bowling for it to count as a hat-trick.

Someone on Triple M asked if hat-tricks can carry over an innings, then why can't a batman's 50 or 100. :smilev1:

Nah, **** off. Many of us don't get the chance. That's like saying a ton only counts if you score every over.

Winning the toss in footy or soccer doesn't really give any significant advantage. But it can do in cricket. In a five match series is there a case for alternating the choice of who bats or bowls first?

Pitches could / would be doctored accordingly if you know who has the call. That’s why you need the uncertainty of the Toss.

I always liked the idea of the away team getting to decide.

Why is it that Victoria hasn't produced a decent cricketer since Warne (an anomaly). Conversely, if there is ever a number of Victorians in the Australian team it will inevitably be weak.
the Victoria shield team plays as a collective group, rather than an individual player dominating?

I don't like that every single time a player scores a duck, the next time that player bats everyone seems to need to mention that the batsman is 'on a pair'.

You could score 5 100's in a row, then if you score 1 duck you'll get that dreaded call the next time you come out to bat, which instantly creates a bunch of pressure that I dont believe actually exists.

If you get two ducks in a row, then absolutely, cop it for GETTING a pair. But it annoys me every time it's mentioned about a player who scored 0 in their most recent innings, as if the innings they have literally JUST started should count for anything until a run is a scored or a wicket falls.

I guess it's the same for the call of 'on a hat trick' after 2 consecutive wickets. At least 2 wickets are something though.

Would say Bolands record after 18 test matches is decent.

Cricket Australia missed an opportunity to turn Glenn Maxwell into a solid Test Match player. He could easily have had the record that Travis Head currently has if he was given consistent opportunities outside the sub-continent.

I think he deserved more opportunities and I think with an extended run he would have managed a career of some substance where he managed some significant innings’ and turned or won games, much the way Head has, but without quite as much consistency. A Shaun Marsh type career perhaps.
