Great strike from Odegaard. We need that much more often from him, if he can come back into form - and player others into form - it's going to be critical in maintaining our spot at the top.

Saka is pretty selfish these days, I feel. Looks for the shot too often. He had a very good first half though, tormented their left side. Odegaard very good too, some of his passess were sublime.

How is Verbruggen not sent off too for the challenge on Gyokeres? Only a yellow is farcical.

What's important is we got the three points. The Villa game is ****ing huge.

First things first: I didn't know where to post this so I reckon this is as good a place as any.

I wish all of you here on Big Footy, your friends, family and loved ones all the very best for the new year. Stay safe.

If Mikel Arteta wants his side to win the Premier League, then he must not play Gyokeres again.

When Jesus came on, Arsenal looked like a top, top quality team; with Gyokeres they looked like Gummy sharks. Van Hecke and Dunk made hime look foolish.

If Jesus is healthy, pain free and not lead legged, then he must start against Aston Villa. If Arteta starts Gyokeres, the Arsenal will struggle. If Jesus isn't ready, then Merino must start.

With a fully fit Jesus and with Magalhães, Calafiori and Timber in that side with Havertz ready to assist, Arsenal will win the league.

Villa equal their club record winning streak of 11 consecutive matches in all competitions and have Arsenal away next where they have a decent record lately.

Meanwhile Wolves on track to score 4 points for the season :skull:

If Wolves win their next 13 games in a row, they will still have fewer points than last season.

Are long throws reviewable by VAR on goals? I saw a long throw this morning where the Palace player had a whole foot over the line
One of my pet hates at Amateur level. When I am a lino I always flag when the foot goes over the line but most refs don't care.

Apparently it's not, but I reckon it should be if it's part of that phase of play that led to the goal.

So if they scored from this it wouldn't have been ruled out but a mm offside is not ok
