So now we only have half a TE if Whyle isn't ok for next week??
Yep. Musgrave played ok today. but still cant run after the catch without falling down. or the rare time he has it ended in a fumble earlier in the season.

We have 2 TEs on the practice squad. but the fact we didnt elevate either of them this week is a sign we dont think much of them. so might need to look at other teams PS to take one.

Whyle was a concussion from the Denver game so should be back next week. but would like at least another option there. Whyle has shown flashes and taken snaps off both Fitz and Musgrave but hasnt been reliable.

You can even add the 4th down rather the the FG on the 1st drive.

I said it a week ago and a couple of times this year. We didnt get beat, we beat ourselves.

Todays loss would of hurt if we were healthy. but being as banged up as we are it felt crazy to still be in the game. We still should of won. If we can stop beating ourselves we could be a special team next season when players are back and we get some new bodies on the OL and CB rooms

Just a few things...

Is forward progress still a thing? Surely the whistle should have been blown before Jacobs fumble, as he'd been dragged back a yard and wasn't really propelling himself.

I only rated the McKinney 'drop' as a half chance, he made a great play on the ball, and was a fraction of a second late, hit his hands but I wouldn't call it a drop.

Doubs didn't really have a whole lot of protection on the onside either, so I don't want to put it on one guy. Yeah HE fumbled, but **** 5 guys piled on in half a second. Whats the rules on hitting it oob in that situation?? If its only a penalty, just do it. We didn't need the yards, just the ball.

I think the Jacobs fumble was super close to being blown dead. but on replay his legs were still moving. We have seen refs just let plays go longer the last few years because of 2nd surge movements when OL come in to push a pile. not something replay can change either. just bad luck. but gotta protect the rock better inside the 5.

the onside Doubs could of just let it roll out because the only bears close were inside. but once its a loose ball its a free for all. but the first 2 bears players just piled on Doubs rather then attack the ball. Thats how he got hurt.
If its a batted ball by the receiving team on the onside its a 5yds and a re-kick. but you can "fumble" at it to disguise it if you are able to and might get away with it.

X's drop was a half chance. but all year we have been dropping INT's need to make the most half chances. the team had at least 2 or 3 vs Denver. I think we are bottom 7 in the league for turnovers with 13. middle of the table on sacks with 33 but 12.5 were Parsons. So defense has been playing really well without getting turnovers or many sacks. but could be so much better if we could finish plays like the dropped INTs or broken sacks/TFL that end up big gains. Yet still somehow the 6th ranked D

Speaking of X dropping INTs, I hate to go all “sliding doors” but if X caught the INT last week we probably win that game and the Micah injury that happened later that drive never happens. Micah plays yesterday we probably win that too and we’re half a game off the 1 seed. Can’t help but think that was the turning point of the season that turned it all to shit. He couldn’t drop them last year and now he just can’t hold them, so frustrating.

Yesterday’s game gave me 2014 NFCCG vibes the way so many planets had to align for us to lose that game.

Didn’t even think of that with Micah’s injury. And that was a bad drop too, right in the bread basket for X.

The one this week was pretty tough, X running full speed to make a break on the ball, pretty out stretched once he gets to it. But we’ve been dropping int’s all year. Think valentine or Nixon had another low ball in his hands though he should have got. Go back to that giants game and we dropped 3 or 4 bad/gettable ones before we FINALLY got jameis in the end.

Little bit of help with Pittsburgh beating Detroit. And from what I hear we aren’t looking to add a qb to the roster which gives love a good shot to play.

Would be huge going back to Chicago as the 7th seed playing the 2nd if it worked out

Absolutely see the comparison with the 14 championship game but I don’t think anything will ever compare to that just for what was at stake. The total control without putting up points. All those interceptions, ah I really hate sport sometimes. This year is tough

Any of you guys hear much about who we potentially will be resting apart from the qb situation. Jacob’s won’t play you’d think and Watson I wouldn’t be giving a heap of time either. Probably a good game to give golden the majority of snaps.

Love out. Willis questionable but Tune will start anyway. Willis would just be backup if active.

RB coach said resting Jacobs should give him the rest he needed

Diggs will play to get him up to speed.

I would rest Watson, Reed, Zach Tom, and Jacobs.
Cooper and Van Ness i would have on a snap count since both are banged up.

Yeah I didn’t think tom would suit up after the last couple out and perfect to put diggs in there for a meaningless game to fast track. Not sure what we gunna get with him.

Wouldn't mind Reed getting some reps, kind of underdone although he's also banged up at the same time. Kind of tuned out a bit with the media the past couple weeks, haven't been watching all the pressers like usual etc.

Just need to get through this week and I'm pretty confident we'll beat the Bears if it's them.

Just finished the first quarter. I wasn’t getting up at 5 to watch Clayton tune. But didn’t think they’d play basically the whole 2/3rd side. I don’t mind it. With the list we have give the team a whole reset and see if it helps. We were stumbling in the last couple games anyway. Give the backups some good reps and see if any stand up. Some ok defensive stops thus far. Vikings soft not going for 1 of those 4th down calls with nothing to play for

I would have the OL

Morgan, Walker, Rhyan/Monk, Belton, Tom

I thought Monk played well at center. and if Morgan is getting beat at LT move Walker back out. but even he had games where he got beat.

I’ve defended lafleur for the past 2 years. Now I’m not. Get him out. What’s the worst that happens. We don’t make the playoffs and we don’t see us fuc*ing embarrass ourselves on tv

Get healthy and hire Hafley as HC, new OC and ST coach and we will be better. still young. patch up some on the OL and get some corners that can cover in the mid rounds of the draft.

get Parsons, Wyatt, Kraft back and a full season hopefully from Reed and Golden.

Quay might be the only FA i would keep.

Doubs can go just for others in the WR room to get more reps and wont offer the same cash others will.
Willis should get us a day 2 comp pick for 27

Gary and Jenkins cut/trade. Extend Kraft and try to get Watson for another few years. restructure a few players just for more money.

Jacobs restructure to get under $10m a year or cut if we cant
Hobbs is a restructure, cant play on $13m next year but cutting saves almost nothing.

Mustgrave cut/trade and draft another TE.
Cutting Diggs will save another $15m and have nothing dead

Cutting Diggs, Gary and Jenkins in March will make about $50m can get more waiting for June with Jenkins/Gary but would rather the dead cap in one go and use the money to extend Kraft and Watson. and get mid range FAs in. can prob make another 30m or so on restructures to get Quay back on a team friendly contract but not overpay, Let him walk if its a bidding war

Zach Tom not playing and having Oliver as a healthy scratch to play Gray doing nothing for the 11th game in a row is crazy.

Just once i would like this team to not beat itself. all year we have played down to bad teams and made everything harder then it should be.

Packers cant have MLF calling plays again, Love played great but the play calls in the 2nd half didnt help. Every year its the same. MLF would of been safe with the win because of the injuries. but losing and blowing the game like that 2nd half again we cant keep him

Exactly what I mean. I didn’t think he’d be in trouble but after today I can’t defend him. It’s been too many times.

I am intrigued with what doubs will attract on the market. He came up big in a few moments today and does continually. Not enough for a high 2nd WR money but is that cause our system doesn’t allow it ?

Doubs is a good 2. Pitt tried to trade for him before the deadline but with injuries to Reed, Golden and Sav we kept him. He has flashes i think he gets a deal like 3yr/$30m might be slightly more or less. good blocker, runs nice routes and has good hands most of the time.

For me this one doesnt hurt as much as 14 or 20 or 21. Just because of the injuries. Bears were the only team we stood a chance against in the playoffs.

But it seems like every year we have a playoff loss that would be the worst for most franchises but we just keep them piling up.

I dont know what we do at HC. Get the feeling Policy will extend Gute and have HC under him so its all on the GM.
I feel like Gute might be leaning towards keeping MLF but no chance in hell can the staff stay together. Hafley is gone with all the teams calling, but cant hire ST/DC from in house. and even OC cant be promoted from in house. OL all year was a mess so need a new coach there

We might be overvaluing Hafley because of how much Parsons covered the back end. Corners were shit all year and without speeding up the QB's the last month is what happens. we have 2 all pro level safties but no corners. But plays like Nixon on 4th down not playing sticky and giving up the easy completion in space is a killer. knew then we were cooked.

So we havent won since the day my cat had to be put down. which f**king sucks. but i started to talk to a few breeders and looking at getting another ragdoll so my last month and a bit as sucked. which might be why im not like many im seeing on social media calling it a top 3 playoff loss in the last 15 years.
