Jake Weatherald should get a mention as well. Scratching my head how he's being picked ahead of Renshaw who's been making century after century in the Shield, and would be the perfect opening partner to someone like Travis Head.

Weatherald scored the most runs in the Shield last season. Renshaw scored 400 less with a sub 30 average, coming off a sub 25 average the year prior.

That's the kind of university level quality cultural reference i hang out in the bigfooty forums for

Just didn't expect to find it on the Bay...

To be honest, I don't know who half of these duds are.

But isn’t that the point?

The half you know about are hasbeens. Or have fallen well short of media hype.

The half you don’t know about are genuine ridgy didge rolled gold duds.

Welcome to the only day of the year you can get shitfaced and pass out in a garden and be known as a "reveler". I want 365 days of reveling
I used to think that drinking was bad:

So I stopped thinking!!!!!

Player #14 - Adam Cerra

Pictured: Adam finally learns to stop chewing his fingernails

Adam Cerra is a former pick #5 in the AFL draft who was later traded to Carlton for pick #6 and change. He's in the prime of his career at a team that gets a fair bit of attention, good and bad. But, like anyone self-absorbed enough to write an "open letter" about something, nobody cares.

For such a trade high price, and all the fanfare of Carlton getting his signature, Cerra has so far put the 'Eh' in 'Meh'.
He's just... there. Seems to get a bit of the ball, doesn't really hurt the opposition, doesn't get noticed - even his player thread on the Carlton board has gone a year with no comments.

Being that expensive and delivering bog average mediocrity, watching Cerra is like visiting Byron Bay... except I'm pretty sure Cerra is vaccinated. In movie terms, he's Twister - pretty well regarded when it started, won some minor awards (3 x AFL 22 under 22 / BMI Film Music Award) but has to be pointed out to be talked about.

Adam does have something going for him though - he's on world record pace for touching umpires. In July of this year he was sent to the tribunal for his 4th offence in 2 years for touching an umpire. In fairness to Cerra, "I'm sorry I didn't see you" is a line the umpires should be very well versed in. Cerra was rewarded for his umpire touching with a 5 year contract from Carlton.

Adam, congratulations on being the lowest-profile high-profile player in the history of the AFL. Welcome to the Bottom 40 for 2025.

Had a very good year in 23, but treaded water since. Not sure if the recurring hamstring problems are to blame. Can definitely be better than this.

We’re on track for a record number of entries here.

Twister was the first film released on DVD in the USA. So least it will leave somewhat a legacy unlike one of the most vanilla footballers of his era.

He'll soon be joining Nick G if he doesn't pull his head in 2026 and start performing for his massive pay cheque.
