Apropos of nothing, we should check out the stats for outcomes of children who are in a two-mother household vs a father-mother household? I'm sure some people will suddenly and magically be able to correctly interpret factor analysis and realise gender isn't the strongest factor in a child doing well....

Buuut if it's a hill some of this thread are willing to die on then I think we should respect the science. And the science says the best thing Jules could do for her children is to hitch up with another woman (not Tess). For maximum circularity, does Lachie Neale have a cousin? A sister? Perhaps even a mother? It's for the children after all.

Capped at about $30k/kid I think. Plus when you take into account Lachie’s other kid, it might reduce it a bit. BUT, I think there’s also the capacity for that to be nudged around a bit if your ex is a high income earner.

Putting that into perspective, while $60k POST tax is absolutely debilitating for most of us, and $60k of non taxed income on top of your own income and benefits is great for most sole parents, this wouldn’t even touch the sides in comparison to the life Jules has been living the last few years.

It’s no wonder people like Nadia Bartel put their foot down on the influencer pedal, it’s either that or go back to being a povo single mum.

I don't think prenups are enforceable in Australia. Or certainly are not enforceable on their face, they may take something in the prenup into account in determining the distributions in line with Australian family law policy in the same way they'd take into account a person's actions, or contributions etc, but I don't believe prenups as a whole are simply enforced in Aus. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Pre nups don't carry much weight here.

Remember, it's Lachie who cheated on her..why is Jules being portrayed as a gold digger because Lachie will need to provide for his children? Something he'd be doing whether they were together or not.

This case is actually a solid example of why a PRE-SEASON trade period could work.

I considered the concept after the Zach Merrett trade fell through in October. If he'd done pre-season until the beginning of February and thought 'I tried, but I can't mentally do this at Essendon again', a secondary trade window would at least open up some options.

The mid-season concept is horrible, and I hope it never sees the light of day. At least actioning the movement before a ball is kicked doesn't result in a player playing for 2 different teams in the same season, which is the idea I can't get behind.

You were never getting ZM out of Essendon. All another trade period would achieve is another chance for Essendon to make the Hawks look like trade period amateurs. It’s over bud.

I don't know what the science says on two father households but I'm all for it. Not sure Lachie and Ben are the right fit for each other though...too much heated rivalry
