They are all 50 to 60 yo and had their teams pounded by Richmond between 1967 and 1980 in their formative years. A sense of relief and self rightiousness from 1982 to 2016 from ages 10 to 50.

Then the childhood nightmare begins again 10 years ago.

Like imagine Steve Hocking. Born in the mid 60s he grew up watching Richmond win 5 flags by age 15, Played from age 19 to 29 for no flags, and retired. Then Geelong jagged 3 flags without his involvement aged 42 to 47, before Richmond pounded his beloved cats when he returned to the afl/cats from age 52 to 55.

He's seen our 8 flags to 4. 5 when he was young and helpless, 3 on his watch as an adult. He couldnt win 1 as a player and missed 3 of their flags when they were better without him.

And here we are. No wonder the guy feels like he has something to prove.

You just can't imagine someone with that much sorrow ingrained from an early age to not develop a hatred.
