It certainly seems like people in their 20's are shacking up younger across the population - who generation of lads who don't take boys trips anymore because they're locked down.

Its funny because 15 years later you've got kids like me and all my mates and we'd do anything just to have a few minutes of freedom.

Quick google search says the average age of a first time mother in Australia is 29.9, with the most common age group being 30-34. Also the proportion of first time mothers that are over 30 has more than doubled since 1990.

Whether or not people are just waiting longer to have kids while being in relationships or waiting longer to start meaningful relationships is debatable, but from my perspective it seems living in a share house and partying and also travelling the world have become prerequisite life experiences these days as opposed to optional extras in the past.

I kid you not, I lived in an outback qld banjo country town for a few years for work. There was a guy there who swapped his wife/gf (probably his sister, actually) for a Mitsubishi Sigma.

He found out she'd been jumping the fence for a while, so instead of getting all bent out of shape about it, he went over there and told the pair of them he knew what was going on and he could 'keep her', but it would cost him the Sigma, to which they agreed.

Old mate got 'crazy lady', and the other guy got his hands on a very used jaundice yellow Sigma. Everyone was happy (and also ****ing inbred)

If you ever travel far enough west of Brisbane, and you go through a town called Yuleba, just keep driving

And marriage is no longer forever as over 50% end in divorce so it is now seen as only a short term relationship.

Unless she tries to paint him as dangerous or irresponsible, you’d think he’d get at least the 2 day per week deal. And if he’s in Perth, it’ll be a lot easier for him to use the days. Even if she goes nuclear and he’s still battling for any custody come the end of the year, I still reckon he’ll be heading back to WA.
