Appreciate the info and the effort gone into this new thread… but lost a little enthusiasm after McGuane was a certainty for years, only then to be overlooked

But hopefully some F/S and academy gems on the way
can’t win em all unfortunately but hopefully the new upcoming crop can provide us with hope

Any word on young Christian and if he is even remotely on the draft radar ?

He’s training with oakleigh atm so we wait and see. Currently injured which doesn’t help

That Daicos kid has worked out alright.

You can see Ricky here, with Saxena when they trained with the vfl last July. He was a bottom ager then (turned 17 last April). No reason our 2027 crop can't do the same once they turn 17 this year. Eli and Cooper share the same birthday. Turn 17 in March.

Any danger the Rocca boys would nominate North as their club of choice, since Sav played 101 games for the Roos?
Both boys follow the Roos from my understanding.

Only Marcus is eligible for north along with pies
Max pies only given Anthony didn’t play for north

If Sav’s boy doesn’t end up with us, it’s another thing I can blame Malthouse for.
Along with losing possibly top 10 2026 prospect young Patterson

  • Forward
  • 182cm
  • Glenelg/South Australia

A quick and agile forward who is clean at ground level and in the air, Patterson has a great goal sense which makes him a serious threat inside the attacking arc. He kicked 28 goals from 13 games for Glenelg in the SANFL under-18s this year, highlighted by a haul of seven majors in a round 13 match against West Adelaide. Patterson was part of the South Australia under-18 squad but did not play a game for the title-winning side. He did feature for Team Docherty in the under-17 Futures game in September, though, kicking two goals from 10 touches. Patterson is the son of former Collingwood rover Stephen but is not father-son eligible given his dad played just 96 games in the black and white. Gabriel’s sister, Violet, plays for the Magpies’ AFLW side.

Gabriel Patterson (Glenelg/South Australia)
Forward | 182cm | 26/03/2008

Collingwood fans will be asking what could have been, with Patterson’s father Stephen falling four games short of rendering Gabriel father-son eligible to the Magpies. The Glenelg livewire boasts explosive speed and a keen eye for goal, as proven by his seven-goal haul against eventual SANFL Under 18 grand finalist, West Adelaide. Patterson is a serious threat at the fall of the ball and can take a mile when given an inch, putting him up there with the best of 2026. He was part of South Australia’s undefeated Under 18 squad this year without playing a game.

Stephen only got one game under Mick.

Assume he’s better on his left than his old man was

Easy. We draft Stephen as a very mature age SSP mid season category B rookie listed player.
Play him for 4 games.
Problem solved.
Leppa’s been onto it for months.
