On order.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about Magazine, moginie , they nearly got past me too.

I only touched lightly on PiL during the 80s. I'd play them on jukeboxes if they were on, but I didn't buy an album of theirs until 92 when I heard this song on JJJ.

And of course, the sound that hooked me was McGeoch's guitar.

Went to Readings this morning and spent my Christmas money on my one traditional pressie buying splurge.
The gifts for others I make. So far Apricot jam using Venus Apricots, Seville Marmelade (not pictured) and spicy tomato chutney this year using miniture roma tomatoes.
I've still got to make the labels, which will probably be later today seeing as it's going to be 36c and I'm hiding from the heat.
One more lot of jam to make which will be more Apricot jam.

It’s been a tragic couple of weeks in terms of the deaths of some great artists.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. We nicked off to the Adelaide Hills for a week and almost dodged Christmas. Stocked up at the Adelaide Central Market the day before and had a cheese, ham, salami, bread, crackers and fruit feast.

It was a pyjama day with gifts and delicacies.

The extreme right wing hatefulness must be noted. Perhaps like Morrissey, a sad attempt at cultural attention seeking.

Christmases spent in PJs are the bestest as well as the ones spent in bathers.
I totally dodged it this year, not fond of it at all.
It has been lovely and quiet in Carlton, aside from a day out to Tylden to visit my friends farm on Saturday.
I haven't been doing anything but reading and the usual perambulation around the streets in the morning.

Well I hope you had a great time. The Markets at this time of year are pumping.

I was there on Christmas Eve around 11am and it was great.

We've finally had some peace around our house. Our niece and her two toddlers stayed with us for a fortnight and I'd have to say that I'm glad my (young) child rearing days are well and truly over.

I saw them at Womad a few years ago. Top class.

Happy New Year to you both! May 2026 bring peace and health.
HNY2026 to you and yours.
And all RZ Surfers.

This is a very interesting article on Pamela Colman Smith who illustrated the Rider Waite Tarot Deck 3KZ is Football

Particularly also, reading the inscription quoted in part in the article, the red link is to the complete piece.
"Also in 1907, she wrote a manifesto, “A Protest Against Fear,” in which she argued that “fear has got a hold of all this land. Each one has a great fear of himself, a fear to believe, to think, to do, to be, to act.”
She urged younger artists, “Try to feel truly one thought, one scene, and make others feel it as keenly as you do — thus is art born.”"

Fascinating.

And I would have loved to see more of the miniature theatre she made.

I really enjoyed this Pamcake1.

The sentiments in The Protest Against Fear are still so pertinent all these years later.

Thanks 🤩
