Good news fellas, we have a milestone this week. Inaugural Wazza and Life Member Smoooothy (once known as Mr_Smooth or Dips for a little while for some reason) brings up 250 SFA games this week, his 233rd in persimmon. Another couple of seasons and he'll get SFA Life Membership to go with his Coney Island one along with his superfluous o's, but for now get the hell around him!

Round Twelve - Away vs the Roys
Well I was on track there for a hot minute.
Round twelve had us heading north the the BJO to face the Roys. A mid table team both on and off the field, so it wasn't the busiest week but it went by convivially enough. Was good though to catch up with the architect of this place and tell him that his tamagotchi needs to be repaired (I was gonna say fixed but maybe it is already.... maybe it is). It was also a week where Dear Leader cut Barrybran's lunch with some panicked match thread OP's.
Game Day soon appeared, and we were hoping for a reversal of recent form. Even though it was close early, we trailed by 10 points at the first change and 9 at the second. We managed to poke our heads in front at three quarter time, however a four goal to six final stanza saw us on the wrong side of the ledger again, this time to the tune of 11 points.
The third loss in a row didn't see us fall any lower on the ladder so there was some good news, the bad news though was that we're now a game and a half plus percentage outside of the eight with five games remaining. It's still good. It's still good!

Round Thirteen - At Home vs the Demons
Here we are again Wazzas.
Round FootyGuy13 was with us again. This time Guy made some people do a spelling bee involving people from competing teams for his OP which had very few carrots and/or boxes but both Headless and I shared some quality time together nonetheless. It was a prelude for a week in which we have plenty of fun, so much so that we had our biggest posting week of the season and it even enticed harry000 out of retirement so the week was already a victory. Until it wasn't.
The bad news though is that fun weeks are spoiled by lousy simulated sport, and this week was no different. We led for the first 4.5 minutes of the match and then for another few until the 10 minute mark of the first quarter. The the Demons kicked the next nine goals and the contest was over by halfway through the second quarter as we were already 10 goals in the hole. That the final margin wasn't more than the eventual 76 points was a minor miracle, and even though we didn't drop any lower on the ladder than our current tenth place the season's pretty much kaput. Again.

Round Fourteen - At Home vs the Swamprats
Hey Wazzas, here's a review.
The penultimate round of season 40 was our last home game of the season, thanks to a corrupt sim and a rookie admin. We were hosting the Swamprats who are rats that live in a swamp so thankfully we were at home. We were on a five game losing streak which had pretty much knocked us out of finals contention, and the week was treated accordingly.
Then Game Day came and went, and in something of a surprise we got off to a flyer, out to a 27 point lead at quarter time. In something less of a surprise, that lead was reduced to 8 at half time. But more surprises came in the last two quarters, where we won both to come away with a 26 point win. This win meant that we had resumed our cusomary ninth place on the ladder and harry000 was undefeated in season 40. Oh how we've missed him!

Round Sixteen - Away Away vs the Bears
So I was about to start collating the Frankie votes for the season when I realised that I hadn't done the review of the last round of season 40, and I don't know what's worse - me taking two months to do it or nobody noticing that I didn't do it for two months! smh my head.
Anyhoo, a quirk of Dear Leader's first fixture saw us travel to the Stadium In The Sky for a second time in the one season. However, the Bears had checked out due to not playing in finals and we weren't far behind given we needed the Hailest of Marys to reach the pst season. As a result nothing happened whatsoever during the week.
I'm assuming that Game Day occured, and the records show that after a tight first quarter we pulled away in the middle quarters before kicking six goals to one in the last to end up winning by 50 points. This wasn't enough to invoke Mary and instead cushioned us into our now customary ninth place on the final ladder of the home & away season.

So I was about to start collating the Frankie votes for the season when I realised that I hadn't done the review of the last round of season 40, and I don't know what's worse - me taking two months to do it or nobody noticing that I didn't do it for two months! smh my head.
Anyhoo, a quirk of Dear Leader's first fixture saw us travel to the Stadium In The Sky for a second time in the one season. However, the Bears had checked out due to not playing in finals and we weren't far behind given we needed the Hailest of Marys to reach the pst season. As a result nothing happened whatsoever during the week.
I'm assuming that Game Day occured, and the records show that after a tight first quarter we pulled away in the middle quarters before kicking six goals to one in the last to end up winning by 50 points. This wasn't enough to invoke Mary and instead cushioned us into our now customary ninth place on the final ladder of the home & away season.
