"What have you done lately?"The Swans’ board is a tough audience.

He looks in ripping knick to be fair. My worry with Cleary and a few others in his position is that they seem to be pegs that can fit into many holes, but not exceptional enough in a particular position to actually replace a mainstay 22 player to cement their spot.I reckon Caiden is on notice.
The question "What have you done lately?" could very much apply to him.
Corey, Kyle, Phil, Cootee, King, Adams, Lloyd, they are all looking for a gig.
Caiden better have his nose clean. Not much difference between half a chance and half a season.
He needs to burn it up in his best role in the Ressies. Put the pressure on.He looks in ripping knick to be fair. To make things worse his types are getting the odd pinch hit as high half/small forwards which is a prick of a role to play, it almost claimed the career of Wicks. Something has to give for these guys to have a future at the club.
Genuinely, who is at risk of being replaced in our midfield in the next 2-3 years? Rowbum maybe, although he seems to be refusing to give it up. Maybe Warner if he decides to leave? but even if he did you'd expect the club to use his funds to find a top tier replacement. Cleary is a mid, the question is how does he get in there.
I think he can definitely be part of the mix from what we have seen so far and what he was before being drafted. He looks in ripping knick to be fair. Your distain for Sheldrick is noted and highlighted.I don't think there's much distance between Cleary and Sheldrick at all, despite Sheldrick being two years older. I've found Cleary to be the better of the two in the VFL, and given his elite tank already - a particular weakness of Sheldrick's - I would not be surprised if that carried over to the senior level as well. He just needs the opportunities Sheldrick has had. And for some reason Sheldrick's track record in pre-season matches is not great, so I can easily see Cleary claiming a spot over him come February.
Looking forward to seeing how they work for it and hopefully they can stay fit.
IMO they are capable of playing complementary roles if both in the team but I think this season there won't be room for both.Your distain for Sheldrick is noted and highlighted.
This is the Caiden Cleary thread yet you have dedicated more words to putting down Sheldrick than putting up Cleary.
Classic admission that the guy you put down is the guy you fear.
That is part of psychology 101.
I like Cleary.
I like Sheldrick.
May the better man win.
Nice problem to have.
It's not that serious rusty. If Cleary is going to be in the midfield mix this year then he is going to have to leapfrog someone who already is and Sheldrick is clearly the most adjacent player to Cleary based on everything from size to age to inexperience to the way they play. So yes I'm going to talk about it in Cleary's thread and no it does mean I have any disdain for Sheldrick. I spent half of last season advocating for Sheldrick to get more midfield time, so you can take that theory and cram it.Your distain for Sheldrick is noted and highlighted.

Classic 101 You are wedded to Cleary. Thats ok.
I looked at another thread and saw your put down of Sheldrick.
You can deny your disdain.
But the proof is in the pudding.
I couldn't be bothered reading why someone has taken exception to this, but I agree completely. I think the two of them are competing for the same spot with Sheldrick currently as the incumbent. It's not that serious rusty.
