I disagree.
Long showed great potential as a clearance mid this year and will only get better.

This was a really nice way to voice your disagreement and share your opinion. I think many will agree with you on this, and some/many still may not, which is what Bigfooty is all about.

And you didn't get strangely personal towards Dopemaster or call him clueless or insult him for having a different opinion, which was great also. Well done Jmac!

I think it is that simple - the best clearance winners aren't dictated by body shape or athletic profile. It's reacting quicker, getting to the ball first and handling it cleanly. I rate Ned, but I don't think Ned has shown that he's likely to become a top clearance player.

I think he gets to the ball first often enough but it bounces off his hands too often at present. Softer hands and more awareness of where others are and he could be a good stoppage player. Hoping he improves both next year. Needs to hang around Pendles all pre season.
 
Neds 22. Taken in a MSD and we are so critical of his potential & what he has achieved.

Lets be honest he offered a lot more than a dozen senior players this year who get little to no criticism

Ned tackles too much as hes too slow

Nick doesnt tackle enough as hes too attacking

Together its like voltron , they combine and become unstoppable

He also has the body size that means he sticks tackles, almost every time.

I'd much prefer that than some others who seem to get brushed off consistently.

Have hope Ned improves the offensive side of his game without losing the defensive

Loved the synergy between Naicos and Long, especially early last season. Ned to Nick was Nice.

Would love to see that again, but sustained and more, um - sophisticated? Slick? Whatever - as long (ha ha) as it works. Can be very effective for us.

I miss the footy.

He is one that has improvement in him, I like the enthusiasm and would be awesome if he does. A bit of a soft spot for those who have been kicked to the curb and make it back. Let’s hope you’re right, he’s a good news story, let’s hope that story gets better.

I shall curb my response and do not wish to curb your most excellent enthusiasm for young Ned but in this instance it's "kerb" ....

Unless of course you're based in that linguistic wasteland run by Donald where anything goes..

PS - it's pleasing to note that since being kerbed, Ned's enthusiasm has not been curbed - no doubt being schooled at Northcote High and Melbourne Grammar has given our lad a certain hybrid vigour

Don’t tell my Dad he paid plenty for my education.
 
Watching this video has made me feel confident that Ned will have a big season, but also that we should get Titch at the club in a development capacity of some kind.
