prob give it away in a few years, cant run away from itYeah thats disappointing hope the kid is ok
With all being equal we have potentially all bases covered except in the Ruck.Get the 2024/25 draftees to 50 games and target free agents over the next 2 seasons, watch how quickly it can change.
Also need a fair dose of luck on the injury front.
Maybe he should take up tabble tennis or rowingprob give it away in a few years, cant run away from it

So, not so much of a Trainer after allAlso Trainer left as soon as I got there, before all these drills.

Not sure if anyone was keen but I went to the tigers training this morning for roughly 2hrs.
Looks like they were in a couple of groups.
Rehabilitation group looked like
Sims, Smillie, Clarke, Faull mainly
-smillie was doing run throughs at various pace over roughly 50m then walking back to the start, probably closer to medium exertion then full exertion imo- no chnage of direction
-Clarke was moving around a lot, did the same exercise as smillie however noticeably at higher exertion, also towards the end of the time he was doing slow paced change of direction cone drills, saw him kick the ball once on the boundary 40m out that went through the goals effortlessly
Faull and Sims seemed to be playing a lot of kick to kick together, sims did a couple of those running exercises but low exertion.
rest of the group seemed to do a fair bit of conditioning for about half an hr running from each side of the centre square to the next.
Nothing overly noticeable as they were all relatively bunched up Krasmadamskis was consistentyl in the top 25% or so of the drill though, retschoe also lead a lot.
Went on to a multi kicking drill from the wing to half fwd to entry in the fwd 50. Then back out the other side of the 50. Nothing to crazy to report with this drill, noticed burton gets a bit of air on his kicking when kicking inside 50.
Handballing game and contest work were the other drills, Roberts-thomson or Alger absolutely destroyed Short with a tackle that left in limping (he did come back into the drill after about 5-10mins though).
Nank Ryan OHB were in the centre square whilst these drills were getting done doing ruck contests and marking contest 1v1
Nank dominated, didnt lose a single contest whether that be a kick to or not to his advantage also with ruck contests.
Ryan looks to be ahead of OHB significantly winning most of the ruck and marking contests when they were against eachother.
Match Simulation- whole ground cones at 40m each of the 50m, a fwd mark consisted a goal, full contact, smith had the yellow cap and Seth the pink top (seemed to be the transition mid that joined up the offense for both teams and played in the middle of the ground)
This was the most interesting part of training.
Both teams were split into Black and white.
Lynch nank sims Clarke smillie vlaustin, trainer all did not participate.
White team
Gibcus- paired nicely with miller
Miller- such a wonderful kick and presence in defense, Black team kicked away from him
Brown- played off half back pushing up slightly towards wing, looked solid
Grlj (played defense)- athletic traits looks great, was playing back pocket and tried to get around the player on the mark (can't remember who) got smothered, a few mins later across half back the ball was going laterally across half back and he found a hole and ran through it blistering pace and got on to a chain, it looked really nice
Short- got crunched in a tackle by hotton, he is super tough
Armstong- played higher up the ground
Kras (played fwd)- was difficult for the rucks as there were no ruck contests in this simulation did play fwd on balta kept up with him, he does look a little lost on positioning in fwd and not particularly confident around the ground. Athletic traits are there though.
Taranto- pretty normal output we've come to expect
Ross- looked to be guiding the younger players into position
Cumming- probably most favourite player of the day, looks like a footballer, hard at it, on the clips we've seen through the draft looked to have an unusual technique did not notice that at all, his kicking looks really good, was part of a really nice chain with Seth through the middle and had this brilliant kick that hit Alger on the flank under pressure.
Peuker- really noticeable getting in to nice positions
OHB- looked the most confident around the ground positioning out of the rucks.
Retshcoe- looks solid, played wing and had couple of kicks into the 50 that looked good and a couple that slightly missed
Black team
Balta- looked solid
Gray- wow, there's been a lot of hype about him on our board and glad I saw it for myself, attack on the ball to spoil was great, came off his man a few times, its worth noting the white team got about 10 scores ahead and without Gray would have been another 5-10 down
banks- nice kicking
Hopper- normal output for him
Sonsie- had a really nice over the head handpass and a beautiful 50m kick that hit Alger perfectly from the wing into fwd 50, he is such a great kick of the footy, really hope he gets it together
Alger- seemed to be playing a similar role to Campbell last yr, high half fwd and then rolled back to kick to the ff position, part of 2 terrific chains that went coast to coast, he looks good, the team looked to get the ball to him
Roberts-thomson- positioning was good, seemed to be part of the game a lot, played wing, half a dozen kicks or so missed the target but had some nice tackling
Hotton- looked good, ferocious tackle cleaned up Short, and looks to be a bit of a link between mid to fwd, had several really nice kicks inside the 40m area.
Ryan- was hard for the rucks
Macauliffe- he goes hard at it, missed a couple intended targets, made some nice tackles
Rioli- played deeper fwd for large chunks, was on the end of one of the chains from Alger, where he didn't mark it but very elusive to mop up
Lalor- he looks strong, kicking was wonderful kicked a 45m bullet from the wing to the other wing that would have been between hip and chest height off the ground (was very impressive). Stood up in the tackle a couple of times getting hands out to teammates.
Perhaps the biggest moment was him and Cumming, cumming was in a chain with Seth and no one could get cumming, (really impressed by cumming when he is moving looks very hard to tackle) cumming managed to get a fwd handpass to Campbell and lalor crunched cumming with a brutal tackle. Cumming and Lalor both on the floor looked at eachother and had a bit of a laugh.
Also Trainer left as soon as I got there, before all these drills.
You can't tell from training. AFL footy can only be judged during real games - games for 4 points or finals.Great work.
Lot of guys stepping up this preseason. Is Sonsie actually playing consistent AFL footy, or still just glimpses?
I'm not seeing any Ferrari's at SEN either, they're the Volkswagen of radio stations. What's worse. Being a nuffy AFL journo or being a nuffy Carlton supporter. Oh wait, he's both!

hes just given us more incentive to win games than the thought of finals. he may have given other teams incentive to take a dive.

i remember after Buddy Franklin played a great game and got swans or hawks over the line in a final, when interviewed he said he was just happy to get the four pointsYou can't tell from training. AFL footy can only be judged during real games - games for 4 points or finals.
Thats pretty funny coming from an ugly campaigner that equates to a Holden Camira jacked up in the front yard in Broady with 3 foot of grass growing under it and no wheels. What's worse. Being a nuffy AFL journo or being a nuffy Carlton supporter. Oh wait, he's both!
