Sonsie doesn’t have the athletic profile to make it. Players like Pendlebury and Sam Mitchell who weren’t overly quick midfielders made up for it with poise and elite skills, none of which Sonsie has.

Happy to hear he’s going well, but the modern game is beyond him. I’ll be surprised if he’s not delisted when his contract is up.

I think he’s still got a chance and sounds like he’s doing all the right things this pre season to maximize it, but for me when the real stuff starts I want to see him backing himself in the contests and going hard at it. Looked too timid for me last year. Also - this time last year Jacob Blight was flying and got a decent amount of attention, so I also wouldnt be suprised if Sonz ends up in the same boat

It must have been a close call, he wasn’t re-signed until 30th October, so obviously our list management team has their doubts, but saw enough in the 2nd half of the season.
At least he’s working his arse off, giving himself a chance to build on last year, but like you I’ve got my doubts. With all our young mids and flankers coming through he’s going to have to go another level this year to be regular best 23.

Since the 2021 draft we’ve brought in 13 players drafted in the first round of the national draft, and another 3 in the 20s plus some shrewd later and rookie picks. This preseason we are seeing most of these players progress or emerge (some rehabilitate).
Not getting carried away with ladder predictions, young teams are notoriously inconsistent, but watching this talent start to gel together is going to be an exciting ride this year. Loving being a tiger nutter.

Not saying he will be, but this kid has the potential to be the equal or better of Dusty. He's a great decision maker, has the fend off down pat, is a much better overhead mark and is an elite kick. Could be absolutely anything.
Got a Mate who’s a bummers fan, said after round one last season that he couldn’t believe we had found a Dusty mark #2 after one game, I think he’s not far off the mark tbh.

Exactly right, so many oppo supporters really don’t get what Blair and the recruiters have managed to achieve. We are gonna be a force in the next season or two, many oppo supporters just don’t see it coming, but it is just a few seasons away. Unbelievable what the recruiting and List Management team has done in respect of list management, just unbelievable imo. Never seen a better bunch of kids at Tigerland in my 64 years, never.
