Is there any relevance from the media conference, to the footage of the person on the motorbike or was this to show what they can pick up with the drones?

Gus is supposed to have disappeared on 27 Sept 2025. Why did it take until 15 Jan 2026 for the police to find inconsistencies in the family members' stories?
Because with time, lies change, little bits are added, bits are omitted.
Theres the initial statements which if its a concocted story would be fresh in all 3 minds.
Then as time passes and subsequent statements are taken minor changes to the narrative appear.

If SAPOL came out early in the piece and suggest foul play and point at the Family, they lawyer up, as they've now done, and then they'd never get the little inconsistancies.

When a case is going nowhere after a few months a standard move is to interview everyone involved again. By then the guilty person has forgotten the lie they rehearsed and repeated months earlier and they end up wih a substantially different statement.

So one searching and another busy but not searching, in different directions for 3 hours? Someone would have had to stay with the baby. I've also wondered why neighbours were not called to help. Thats what you do in the bush.
Well i guess thats why everyone is sus on the family they didnt want people to help look for gus and were flat out rude at anyone near the farm, what are they scared of? Somebody might find something

Spot on

The other side of the coin is that if you promptly separate potential suspects and get them to repeat their stories several times it gives them less time to make sure their stories are consistent. It doesn't have to look like an accusation so that they stop cooperating. A good detective should be able to sniff if there's something off with their story and follow up on it. But apparently that didn't happen.

It's interesting that police have said only one of the grandparents, Josie or Shannon, is a suspect and has ceased cooperating. But the other grandparent has also lawyered up, and with a different law firm. The mother, Jessica, was supposedly with Josie at the time Gus disappeared so she would be a corroborating witness.

This is the important bit. No matter what, in the case of a missing child especially, it's important to get immediate, comprehensive, and independent statements from all witnesses and people present at the scene. Do it within hours. Seperate the key witnesses. Get everything on record. Don't wait for days to pass. Don't give them the opportunity to forget, or collaborate, or allow them to be influenced by others. So what if you waste a few hours and the child turns up? You might actually be able to save immense resources, and move swiftly to solving the case. Too many times we see that a case might have been solved quickly, and maybe the child even found alive, if only the right questions had been asked of the right people at the right time.

What I’d like to have confirmed is police have established a time line of when Gus was last seen alive by A member of the public ?

There is only one rational reason to cover up an accident. That would be to hide abuse.

Therefore if the Police are right, then we are saying this is not an accident.

What Police know and what Police release to the public are two very different things, for varying reasons.

The media is a tool in Police investigations and what they release to the public is very carefully planned.

I think the police should not have acted until they had enough evidence for a criminal charge. It’s hard to know how this case will be progressed without a body.

They have a strategic plan. Someone is going to roll over.

You can prosecute without a body. See Patrick Stephenson.

But, I think we will find one of the Grannies will be found guilty.

As someone said, two lawyers. One for the alleged death and one for holding back information, being an accessory.

The one that hired Ey is the one that did it IMO.

Both would have known. They set it up so one goes with the mother to attend sheep while the other disposes of the body so they could start their child wandered off claim.

Someone has to roll over though. What if they remain silent. Unless they planted bugs and have listened to conversations.

so weird. thats it? thats the whole statement?
First wouldn't talk at all, now speaking through lawyers. I also find this privacy about all else very odd. I would have been talking with the media from day one and accepting all assistance.

If they remain silent then that would suck, but there should hopefully be enough evidence for the jury to come to a guilty verdict.

If most mother's were deceived by her parents in a situation similar to this suggested scenario ...... hell would hold no fury compared to Momma.

In other cases (e.g.Kristy Abrahams) perpetrators have been found to go check on graves. So I think it was designed to definitely, (a) showcase the power and accuracy of the technology which has been used in this case and it's ability to provide real time evidence and (b) to intimate that they have other records of movements across the property since Sept 27.

If he had been on the farm with his mother etc, its quite likely no one outside the family had seen him for weeks. So even though this question needs to be asked, it may not be helpful. You have to remember how isolated this property was and how these properties work. Food shopping is usually only done monthly or even six monthly (powdered milk, homemade bread and cakes, meat from their livestock and chickens for eggs and meat, frozen veggies or grow their own etc) fuel is usually delivered by a tanker etc and even if someone went into the nearest town they probably would not have taken a child with them on the long drive. Its quite likely no one had even seen the adult family members for weeks or months.

If that was the case then the parents who have been cleared are involved.
The only thing I can think of to fit a scenario of something happening to Gus before this day is if Jess lives in another house on the property or had been away for a few days or so and not seen Gus and hadn’t specified the last time she’d sighted Gus.

I’ve read that there’s drone companies that monitor vegetation in rural areas with drones.
I guess that would be a bit lucky for police though.
Probably more likely it’s from footage taken after Gus disappeared.

a neighbor of the adelaide place had seen him a couple weeks before.

As the eyes of the public and media return to Yunta, the Mail can also reveal the boy did not live at the station - as had been widely understood - and instead lived with his parents, Jessica Murray and Josh Lamont, and his one-year-old brother Ronnie at an Adelaide home which, according to property records, is in Shannon Murray's name.
A neighbour on the street said the family lived at the address - located 320km south of where Gus vanished without a trace - but also spent a lot of time with Jessica's parents at their outback sheep station.
'I only saw him probably a couple of weeks before he disappeared,' said the neighbour, who did not want to be identified.
'I'd see them go for a walk to the playground up the road with their dogs.
'He was a lovely little boy. I'd say hello as they went past.'
