Brain dead or simply brain storming ways we could’ve landed a generational talent and current top 5-10 player in the league in NWM?

If he requested a trade we would’ve needed to pony up something really good.
Tbf I did have a bit of fun with this.

Callum twomey said that Bob1 is a good chance to be selected if port make at least one selection. It makes it sound like he is the top priority of the train ons and its not guaranteed two selections will be made.

What's the update with Jaidyn if we may opt for Bob 1 and not go with 2 selections?
Hamstring issues continue since the start of 2026 and he hasn't really been able to shake it off. I don't think he's had a full training session this year yet? The recovery/rehab time is concerning

Balyn O'Brien a good Eyre Peninsula boy, Port Adelaide heartland.

From the town of Warramboo, just down the road from Wudinna, Greg Phillips territory.

What Twomey said

"I think Balyn O'Brien is a good chance if they do add at least one on, a medium defender who has impressed," Twomey said.
"I think other clubs would look at him as a mid-season pick as well."

...
Isn't Greg Phillips from Minnipa?

Still just down the road in Eyre Peninsula terms.

Is jaidyn Stephenson still $1.03 odds for a spot on the list?

Then you are a football smooth brain, but we already knew that.
It’s fine to have people that you consider to be “untouchables”

And why wouldn’t one of the leagues most promising KPF be considered untouchable? They don’t come more important than that, especially given our lack of ever previously developing one.

Let’s be real, it would have been near impossible for a hypothetical NAS deal to be done. Saints would have demanded too much and Port wouldn’t have been able to satisfy them. The Saints were prepared to make it as “ugly” as possible for losing their best player.

Not to mention how Port were gonna get the likes of Cochrane, Pilot, Salopek, Rodan etc. with a very limited draft hand without sacrificing a quality player in the next few drafts.

Having said that, I believe that if a failed trade happened, Port would have been able to get NAS via PSD. No other club that finished below Port would get him in the PSD despite some commentary about it.

It wouldn’t make for prudent list management to trade for NAS given his worth.

The only way a trade would be possible is if the equally elite Butters was going to leave, obviously

NWM staying at Saints was the best outcome. Its too early to tell if hes a top mid or a Rozee.

They had a very easy run home with Melb, Roos, Essendon, Richmond all in a row
Yeah he might not be a top midfielder he might end up like rozee who only has two all Australian blazers as a midfielder at 26

I'll save you some time having to watch the Saints this year. I can confirm he is a top mid. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

Who should Port sign as a SSP? Stephenson and BOB? Stephenson and Zadow? Or Stephenson? It's Stephenson's spot to lost.
If we don't take 2 players I'd be surprised and disappointed. Waiting for someone to prove themselves between now and the mid-season is leaving the door open for another club to select a player we may like before us. Even if there aren't 2 of the 4 players we're trialling who have impressed us enough, surely we can select another player we've been scouting from watching train-ons at other clubs or training over the summer for state league teams. You can't tell me that we haven't been able to identify at least two players nation-wide who aren't better than Anastosopoulos, Moss, Lord and friends.
