Perfectly summed up.Has been a slow burn, no real fanfare, just quietly going about his business. Will get opportunities this year.
I find it astonishing that skills are seen as ‘set and forget’ once a player enters the league. He reminds of Dunkley when he started, wasn't a good kick but developed it over the years
Players should really be improving at all aspects until their early 30sI find it astonishing that skills are seen as ‘set and forget’ once a player enters the league.
What the **** else do they practice week in week out?
Imagine a pro golfer with a shit short game at 18 years old and then going ‘well that’s as good as it’s going to get…’Players should really be improving at all aspects until their early 30s
It's odd, but I did hear Cats don't really worry about what they can't do re skills. They look at athletic traits.I find it astonishing that skills are seen as ‘set and forget’ once a player enters the league.

Holmes is a cat, the most overrated pelican I've ever seen. It's odd, but I did hear Cats don't really worry about what they can't do re skills. They look at athletic traits.
I guess teams think they can work on the skills with guys like Dempsey or Holmes.
Lol. Not sure I'd go that far as calling an AA level player a spud, but agree he's not exactly a tough guy.Holmes is a cat, the most overrated pelican I've ever seen.
A genuine spud, he'd already be Holme if he played for us.
I don't care if he's tough or not, just had a really poor final and was Jamie MacMillan-like last night.Lol. Not sure I'd go that far as calling an AA level player a spud, but agree he's not exactly a tough guy.
Oh ok. I didn't watch the Origin, but yeah his GF wasn't great.I don't care if he's tough or not, just had a really poor final and was Jamie MacMillan-like last night.
At best.
Whomever was commentating at the time said his kicking on the run was less of an issue than his static kicking, owtte. That set shot was horrific - was like they pulled a rugby player out of the crowd bad.
Running shot was much better - did well but looked slow with ball in hands at times. Didn’t seem to want to kick and was looking for a handball
How is some singer from the early 2000s going to help him?Might be an idea to pair Luke up with a specialist kicking coach like Josh Growden. He has all the other attributes to make it
That's intersting. Very much how baseball works too, seen plenty of MLB scouts here, don't do much but measure swing velocity, how hard they throw, and how fast they run. 17/18yo can throw 90mph, unless lazy, they sign em, especially if left handed. It's odd, but I did hear Cats don't really worry about what they can't do re skills. Had plenty of company on the day. Still a gun and very important to the Cats in my opinion.Oh ok. I didn't watch the Origin, but yeah his GF wasn't great.

They're good footballers. But Geelong so **** them.I like Holmes.
Also think Dempsey it a jet.

I've had enough of Geelong, I hate everything about them. The town, the club, the players, their supporters and especially Cat It. That thing that sits in their cheer squad with their face painted. Can't stand it.
Is this actually confirmed?Well odds are they'll struggle to do that again cos their house burnt down in the fires and they lost all that stuff.
