Reckon you have missed the mark by calling him the least popular player on our list

Has been great for the club. He's an outside runner. Plenty love watching him.
I agree. He has been great for the club. and i regularly defend him but i am absolutely sure he is the least popular player among fans here. But me saying it gives people a chance to perform niceness after the fact.

Can you verify your 'opinion' he is the least popular player on the list, not just anecdotal evidence?
Howard, King, Stocker, Byrnes to name four who are less popular.
Glad you are convinced though. Must be true.

It was a style of game that suited Hill to a T; high skills, medium to low defensive pressure and not overly contested. I remember that he also did well in the previous state of origin game (start of 2020 maybe?).

Hill's strengths and weaknesses are the easiest to define for any player on our list. He's at his worst when he has to defend, go in a marking contest or rush a possession, but he's glorious to watch when he has space and time to use his pace and kicking skills. His kicking has actually been down the last season or two in my opinion, but it was back to its best on Saturday. Hopefully that continues through the season, particularly if we can play him to his strengths and get him some ball on the outside.

Loving the type of people we have on our list, seems like we have plenty of players who are willing to sacrifice what is needed to get back into contention for finals.

I work at South Adelaide, where Arie got recruited to, and it’s clear to see players like him weren’t going to drive us forward. He’s already got coaches keeping an eye out when it comes to behaviour.

The leadership group is the best I’ve seen in years. The young fellas from the 2021 have been massive, but we can’t downplay the impact of Wood. Plenty of our young blokes would idolise that man. What a pick up.

Where on earth do you get such an idea? Such a generalisation.

Dow is worthy of a depth spot and a chance to prove himself worthy of more. Giving him a go after going through what he faced last season gives a positive signal to other players that St Kilda looks after its own when in a bind and when they deserve a second chance.

Stoked to see Wood get recognition for his leadership - what he's done in terms of mentoring the youngsters is absolutely phenom... phenoma... outstanding.

It's kinda wild that when we recruited Dow he was kind of seen as an important and potential future starting mid.

Since then we've recruited
Macrae
Hall
Flanders
Nas has gone to another level.

And windy/garcia/box/pou take your pick have stated their claims also.

Put him way down the pecking order and I guess a couple unfortunate injuries and illness and suddenly he's depth.

Love to see him push for games this year. But will be an uphill battle to get a contract for next year. But similar to watching billings slowly fade away I feel might be the same for Paddy.

So where West Adelaide legend Bob Lee’s grandson coaches the Under 18’s - and presents the trophy named after Bob to the Second Eighteen premiership side

On the Dow side, why is he still there?
All he’s doing is taking up cap space we’d be much better spending on players who will get us competitive.

Well there is the part where he was severely ill, and had to have multiple surgeries from training hard for St Kilda. So now fit, they gave him a year to show he could still make it.

Plus it probably helps the entire playing list to keep pushing themselves very hard, when they know that the Club has got their back.

My 100% honest impression.

But the way,
Can you verify Howard, King, Stocker and Byrnes..?

Anyway, it’s a sure thing Hill will be liked more now!

That’s how it goes.

No, can't verify anything, its an opinion game, like every one of my reports or reviews.
Yes thats how it goes, like every year someone will take a shot at me over something I posted about a player preseason even though I state it is my view only.

Too bad so sad.

Joff most absolutely love your training reports/reviews keep up the great work! Like many I have opinions on players, but you actually see their strengths/weaknesses and improvement weekly. Apart from the coaching staff there no is none in a better position to make subjective opinions.

Happy Chinese New Year everybody! It's the Year of the Fire Horse.

"It's one very particular year in that 60 year cycle. It's very special." Pan Wang, associate professor of Chinese and Asian Studies at the University of New South Wales, said fire and horse represent very similar qualities.

"If you put these together, it's like a double fire," she told SBS News.

"That will certainly symbolise vitality, passion, this full energy and high speed, courage."

She said this year, people are encouraged not to hesitate when making decisions, and to embrace the traits of the horse.

"Basically, this is a year that rewards fearless courage, dedication and punishes indecision, hesitation or impassiveness," she said.

"Just ride the horse and ride the momentum, and do not hesitate too much and complete the journey."

Double Fire! 🔥🔥

Just in case anyone was wondering, the last time we had a Year of the Fire Horse was in 1966! 🤩

"While physical ruckman may not be overjoyed by the change, St Kilda's recruitment team may have anticipated the exact mould of player that can create the most advantage from the change.

And according to former Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley, it could propel their star recruit to the very top.

Tom De Koning – best ruckman in the comp this year,” Hinkley called on SEN Sportsday.

“I think the change of rules are going to really play into his hands. If he stays fit and healthy, with all the pressures he was under last year…

“Changing clubs - it was clear to everyone that he was leaving, but the reality is with a bit of freedom now and the new rule change, he could be one of the best.

“With (Rowan) Marshall; what a dynamic duo they could be, but TDK for me could be a breakthrough player this year for the ruck position.”"

Little bit of Stkilda Love in the media in the last 24 hours. Obviously Hinkley and the TDK Stuff is the main one, but this morning.

Garry Lyon on Jack Sinclair this morning

"I understand why they have announced him co-captain of the saints. He can play anywhere Jack Sinclair. He's just a class act"
