Yeah pre-season and all that, but we honestly look like a new team.

Having 2 ball pigs now in (Flanders and McRae) is absolutely huge. Frees up the classy blokes like NAS, Hall, Pou, Wilson, to cut teams up on the outside.

I have not been this excited entering a season since 2010.

Tauru looks like a 200 game absolute lock. Don't know who he reminds me of but it's just set and forget, will be a gun from now on. Absolutely love him.

Actually loved Ryan's game too. Worked so hard.

Flanders an absolute jet.

So much to like.

Could be like how a in his prime Sam Fisher played for the Saints. Just stay away from the post career.

Pick 7 for Flanders looks like unders. If we finish top 6, and he has a good season. He would be hard to look past for AA alongside Nas.

Half a dozen players looked like they were keeping a lot in reserve too. Nas probably going at about half pace.

Really pleasing second half, albeit against the Gold Coast QAFL team by the end of it.

Owens needs to fix his goal kicking routine asap!

Not to glaze TDK. He rucks so elegantly in the centre bounce. It looks so smooth and you just know he will hit it to our advantage.

Byrnes seemed stronger in the tackle tonight or was that just weak GC.

He's at the same age Sincs was when he came good.

My biggest takeaway from this game is our consistent teamwork, always looking for the better option and unselfish football.

Why did Gold Coast give their players so little game time? Petracca seemed to barely play

It’s okay to feel excited watching that.

If that had been Geelong, people would already be talking about how they’re set for another strong year.

What stood out most was that it came off the back of a clear, identifiable system. Players were trusted in multiple roles; Flanders and Windhager rotating between half-back and on-ball, Nas, Hall and Pou shifting through the midfield and forward. It was structured, adaptable, and cohesive.

Defensively, it looked like a classic RTB side at its best. organised, disciplined, and connected. We didn’t rely on one individual to carry us. it was a genuine team performance.

And my favourite part: the unselfishness inside 50. The extra handball, the willingness to give the better option. The only times I remember us playing that way were during our better seasons.

Plenty to be genuinely encouraged by.

Once we add some real height (hopefully max) and marshall playing upfront more often.

Only negatives I can think of were first quarter we got opened up very easily and Silvagni concussion. Aside from that you couldn't have hoped for more. Recruits excellent, guys like Windy and Wilson look bigger and stronger, forward line looked dynamic, and we still have very good players to bring into the side.

Pou did some great stuff inside. Didn't dominate the game but it was a really positive step.

Flanders looks like he'll be an outstanding get.

Tauru. Just brilliant. He has a positive impact on almost every contest he hits.

Going to be hard work getting into the side this year.

Phillipou is so unique. Just does things different to anyone else. His hands and brain seem to work at a fast pace than others. I thought Windy had a very underrated game too. Lots of things that made others look good.

70 point drubbing of Gold Coast on their home track in the heat, commentators sounded absolutely devastated. First quarter or so it was all 'Trac' and 'Jamarra' chat despite them doing **** all, by the end it was just off topic chatter lol.

Keeler - was good in the brief patch I saw him.

There was a play where he got it and ran, you can see that his burst from stoppage could be a weapon for him. I think our new ruck division is going to help our mids too, might be able to work out some set plays etc. I feel that Pou will really build into this season.

Windy is just a very good player now. Reminds me of a guy like Shane Edwards for Richmond, those underrated vital players that form a premiership team.

Things are really coming together. Hard not to be excited about that performance.
