Needs less Derka.Derka Derka did pot one out on the full under zero pressure last week IIRC…
Saints money will get eaten up once Tauru, Garcia, Hall, Phillipou, Travaglia, Wilson and King get to 100 games. They’re paying way too much to too few over the next few years they they will lose some quality players that won’t be getting their fair share of the prize. We’ll have enough on our plate fending off $2m offers for Jagga from the likes of StKilda once they lose Naz to worry about stumping up $1.5m or over for Butters. Can’t see it happening also when considering Port can match bids.

Harry moves and runs like an athletic 190cm type...Two 200+cm forwards is stone ages football
Reckon that was the injury time (Jan) and we only just placed him on the Inactive List to promote the 2nd spot.![]()
Hollands and Derksen earn their chance
Elijah Hollands and Wade Derksen will wear the Navy Blue in 2026.www.carltonfc.com.au
Note - Mots was put on the Inactive List some time last month.
I feel that in the next couple of years we'll have to draft 1 or 2 tall forwards. H is 28 years old...Feels like some of us have become so accustomed to having two highly paid KPFs that we're tripping over ourselves to get King to fill the Charlie void.
I'd rather see a good sample size of how our new forward line works this year. Maybe we just don't have as much need for a second star KPF any more?
If we do need another tall forward, I suspect we'd do better to get a solid supporting player rather than a big name who will chew up a bunch of salary cap. Someone who is to tall forwards as George Hewett is to midfielders.

Derka Derka only replaced WW as an SSP train-on for the 2nd allowable spot for the 1 position on the list.

BCampo and Lord as the bulls as well.A midfield built around Walsh, Jagga and Walker should go alright for a few years.
yes, Derksen should be used as a swingman... especially to create mismatches in F50.Think we just signed him via the SSP
Derksen will fill a gap down back with HOF rehabbing, Haynes under a cloud, McGovern playing looser and Dean developing.
But once Haynes returns, and if Dean settles into a role quickly, I think Derksen will give Kemp a genuine run for his money as our second tall forward.
I haven’t seen anywhere any numbers except 8 years, where are you getting the dollars number from?Wow an 8 year deal for 10 mill, thats 1.25 million a season.
I love that Walsh has done this early so it’s not a on going circus through out the year, but this is a massive contract
for a player coming off two average by years by his own standards.
It’s gotta be an indication that the club are confident that his body is going to hold up, no way Wright and Davis would sign off on a deal this big if there was genuine concern.
Acres would be proudDerka Derka did pot one out on the full under zero pressure last week IIRC…
Article on AFL.com says 8 year deal estimated to be worth over 10 millionI haven’t seen anywhere any numbers except 8 years, where are you getting the dollars number from?
This is the best part of this article. $1.25m is a bargain!
Rival clubs, such as Geelong, St Kilda, Adelaide and Hawthorn, flagged interest in Walsh last year ahead of his free agency year, but they were unable to get into the conversation for him over summer as his priority was to stay at Carlton.
