I’m hoping we play Byrne ahead of Fog and I think Newy needs to come in to Marshall the defence especially if Weiters doesn’t get up

Seemed like an absolute bargain at the time, and doubly so now.I know he hasn't played an actual AFL game yet, but remember their were some fans that went crazy because we traded 2 first draft picks to get higher up the draft order and select Jagga Smith at number 3
Carlton believes it landed the best player in the stacked 2024 draft class.........................this was the message out of that draft

Gives up: Matt Owies, picks 12, 14 and 73
West Coast

Think Newman would've played 1s if he was any chanceI’m hoping we play Byrne ahead of Fog and I think Newy needs to come in to Marshall the defence especially if Weiters doesn’t get up
Lalor was a risk given his soft tissue injury history before he was drafted. They wanted a Dusty Martin replacement and appears they overlooked Smith for this reason.Jagga certainly attracting some interest on the Richmond board. Panic stations already trying to justify their Number 1 pick.
He played a few reserves games for them in 2024 and tore it up.Jagga certainly attracting some interest on the Richmond board. Panic stations already trying to justify their Number 1 pick.
I remember thinking it was a bit strange when it became obvious they were taking Lalor over FOS or Jagga. They needed the future captain, 9/10 every week player rather than the X factor guy. Lalor will be an absolute superstar, but I think Richmond fans may be lamenting not getting the leaderHe played a few reserves games for them in 2024 and tore it up.
It's not like they weren't forewarned.

The top 6 were miles above the rest, as good as that draft will end up being. Lalor, Jagga, Langford, FOS, Ashcroft, Draper were the clear 6 in that crop. Surprised that their first top pick in a rebuild was an X factor guy over a leader. That’s what I’m sayingIt was different for them though because they were picking so many players.
They went for a fair few higher ceiling lower floor types with their picks.I remember thinking it was a bit strange when it became obvious they were taking Lalor over FOS or Jagga. don't think they messed up their no.1 pick, but they screwed up by not trading and paying up for pick 2 and taking jaggaJagga certainly attracting some interest on the Richmond board. Panic stations already trying to justify their Number 1 pick.
To be fair he does look like a Dusty replacement, I just preferred Jagga over everyone else that draft given his Daicos-like ability to get inside to outside and work his way into chains. That was exactly the player we needed.Lalor was a risk given his soft tissue injury history before he was drafted. Richmond got it rightJagga certainly attracting some interest on the Richmond board. Panic stations already trying to justify their Number 1 pick.
They may have picked for their needs, but Jagga was best mid in draft and thankfully was what we desperately needed. Love Austin for trading us into top 3 to get him.Richmond got it right

Normally agree but Dean is ready. Mentally he will thrive on it and can play on 2nd or 3rd tall. Playing him in Seniors next to Weitering is the way forward IMO
I would play Weitering Derksen & Dean as our 3 talls supported by runners
According to them, Smith will be a hack disposal stat padder.I remember thinking it was a bit strange when it became obvious they were taking Lalor over FOS or Jagga. I'd start Dean on Curnow.
