If I'm understanding correctly and to summarise:

Cadman, Briggs, Brown and Fonti would have likely played today if the game was for four premiership points.

Finn Callaghan will likely line up against the Hawks (Callaghan essentially confirmed the same during the live broadcast interview).

Potentially 3 debutants + Laverde and Oliver likely for a total of 5 new names next week to kick off the H&A season.

Interesting. Gives rise to a number of permutations for next week.

Also mentioned that Cadman was "a little bit grumbly the last fortnight" so they omitted him because he's had a good preparation until then.

"1, 2 or 3" debutants ... Gothard the only name mentioned. Perhaps Ough or Hannaford the others? You would think less likely though!

I know it’s only preseason, but we looked really weak out there and were simply outclassed by the swans. All the injuries are sure piling on us hopefully we bounce back next week against hawks.

Hopefully nothing and no report by the club that Jesse has an injury.

Spearhead Hogan played through an apparent ankle concern in the wet weather, receiving medical attention more than once on Thursday.

Reporting boundary-side, Fox Footy’s Ruby Schleicher shared the latest on Jesse Hogan, who appeared to deal with an ankle issue after an early marking contest.

“He came down (and) appeared to tweak his right ankle. He got up and played out the quarter after a brief time on the bench, but he did look a little hampered when he was slowing down,” she said on the broadcast.

“It does beg the question for GWS — with 14 on the injury list, does Adam Kingsley pull him for the second half, wrap him in cotton wool and make sure he gets to Opening Round?”

Bulldogs legend Brad Johnson added: “It’s something that will be going through their minds, absolutely … he looked OK at different stages. He was good at high speed, but as he was slowing down he had a bit of a limp.”

Hogan kicked two goals after quarter-time to dispel immediate concerns about his fitness, before sitting out the final term.

I think phoenix was one of the few shining lights. Handled the wet weather and is creative when he has the ball.
He may well benefit from others being injured and get an opportunity.

I arrived at Henson Park at the beginning of the second quarter, started bucketing down, got saturated and left just before half time. In that short time saw the Giants kick 3 to South's 2 so probably did pretty well all up.

I think we need to find a ruck man that can jump. Otherwise our mids will be chasing tails and centre clearances will be a bigger problem than last year. Worth giving Aleer a go once he is back on the park.

Too early to tell.
They dominated in the ruck against Cameron the week before (although he had moments as well)
The rucks will take half a year to work it out

How did Ough go in the last quarter? He looked average until the feed cut on Kayo but I feel he must have got 9 or so possesions after that point.

Who is likely to get more games this year? McMullin or Ough?

Muff ... but Ough will get games and make money as a cash cow for you

This year if say McMullin cos he is more versatile. Can play mid/wing/small forward.

Ough seems like a pure mid to me.

From limited viewing, I fear Ough might be a bit slow to play the Giants style.
Very good in the contest though.
I reckon he'll carve out a decent career, but maybe not with us.
Haven't seen enough to be confident on either of those points tbf.

So, tomorrow is the last day of the PSSP, I believe.

Will we add someone to our main list to cover for Tom Green's season-ending injury?

I get that no-one will come close to his ability, but just from a pure numbers perspective, we're down 4 guys for much of the season (Jones, Wardius & Kelly as well as Green) so putting 1 replacement on the list given Tom is guaranteed to miss the entire season seems a no-brainer to me.
