Lobby was immense too, huge for us. Naughty's pressure and second efforts was fantastic considering he was a bit quiet, he always gives us that and keeps his head up.

Slight negative, JOD's disposal is an issue, looks so nervous with the ball and almost cost us a few goals.

I think he's pissed they lost the first game after their back-to-back triumph. Everyone is supposed to lauding Brisbane right now but we pissed all over that!

He'll also be worried that at least three of their players are going to face the tribunal. Bailey, Andrews and Gardiner all deserve weeks and the Fox team have them all having a 1 to 3 week holiday.
McCluggage out with a calf as well, might be in trouble for the first few games.

Oscar Allen was very pedestrian tonight. Good call Norm - misjudgement there by Brisbane in who to recruit as a key post up forward. Allen is very vanilla and always has been.
Remember when West Coast fans were saying that Allen was better than Naughton.

Pepperidge farm remembers.
I’m glad it’s not just me. I thought I might be going out on a crazy limb with my thoughts on Allen. Because the football media have been telling me otherwise for years.

It was a pizza with the lot(Mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, capsicum, hot salami, olives, onions, shrimps, bacon and pineapple and anchovies) with added sun-dried tomatoes, jalepenos, garlic and pork sausage.

I figured at the positive reports from my cardiologist and neurologist last week, I'd take a shot. I still have half of it left. Might have a slice now...
Freeze it for next week.

Jay Clarke declaring Bulldogs favs to get Butters at season's end. I don't think I can take any more good vibes tonight. Time to get to bed and try to wake up Mrs Mutt. Night all and go Dogs!
Replacing one psycho physical inside mid in Libba at the end of his career, with another in Butters is a beautiful thing. Not to push Libba out if he has another year in him and shows he can play another role, but Butters would be such a great replacement for he and Ads.

It seems we have as much cap room as anyone and as much draft capital as any of the other contenders. The Bulldogs history and his hometown are secondary factors.

The number one selling point will be having a team ready to contend for a number of years.

Geez that was a great win!
We had a very balanced side out there tonight and Bevo made some great changes.
I thought Budarick's defence was shaky but his kicking was immense. Not sure if it was an outlier but if thats his normal game, it gives us an extra option when Dale is tagged. I note that Budarick took all the kick-ins in the second half. Looks like the coaching are sold.

Baker and Bramble had excellent games. Both gave us some zip on the outside and kept their heads when kicking. A very nice duo to balance out our coal-face guys.

Jacques and Selwood both good. Nice to see some defensive nous to allow Lobb and Khamis play their more natural roaming and intercept game.

English is almost our barometer. When he plays well, we are a much better team. And how was Dale in the end. Didn't do much all game but when the game was on the line, the bloke was in everything. From scrawny high school kid to genuine leader.

Just love the balance of the side and all the chess board moves. One of our best wins ever.

It may be churlish to comment on a negative in such a fantastic win but we probably have to persevere with O'Donnell because the cupboard is bare for key defenders. He just appears to be unreliable and sometimes out of his depth. Fumbles, has difficulty picking the ball off the deck and is easily out-bodied. Is there any improvement in his game? Don't know, but it's necessary.

I'm still cutting him some slack for another year.
He is less than 50 games into his career after not playing AFL for years, remember he came over from cricket so he is still playing catch-up.

In the last quarter when Bont went forward, I was thinking wouldn't it be nice to have Butters in the midfield right now.

Lol fagan is so salty in his presser
I didn’t think he was too bad. He was perplexed that they won many of the key stats yet the ones we won were more crucial. I also don’t think he planned very well for us. Relied on the premiership status of his team to get the job done. And it nearly worked. They’ll win plenty this year.

He was poor tonight. Seemed to have the jitters. He was a late starter to footy to still has massive scope for improvement.

After a very shaky start I was beginning to doubt Conner Buderick.

However, once he settled after that long bomb from 50 he looked every bit the footballer we hoped he'd be.

Im so glad that I refrained from posting my idiocy in the game day thread when they flittered through my pea brain.

Listening too the post game. Im convinced that commentators judge Aaron Naughton on a ridiculous curve. Anybody paying attention could see that although like all of the KPF on the ground, he wasn't hitting the scoreboard. He was by far (and usually is) our most effective pressure forward for the entire game. He outshone the likes of Jones and West by so much that it made their defensive contributions pale into insignificance.
Come on he was useless

We have to play him and we have to compensate for his issues. He’s serviceable and that’s ok in a good team defence. As long as he plays his role he’s in our best 23 as we don’t have anything reliable behind him. Buku stepping up helps albeit a different role but he was great tonight 👍

He, and Gardiner, and Bailey could be in trouble.
Yep.
Harris for the Jones knock out
Gardiner for elbowing Naughton in the head front on
Bailey for a swinging back elbow into Sellwoods head.

Were they practicing swinging elbows all season?

The media still think Naughton is just a contested speckle taker from his early days. In reality he’s the best one percenter score assist forward in the game.

Has another key forward kicked more goals from point blank range than Logan Morris? Gets talked up but his biggest talent is being in the right spot at the right time, as he does **** all otherwise.

Getting yourself into the right spot at the right time is a pretty important skill tbf
