I was captivated by Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor jnr as a kid watching the NBA, amazing, unstoppable skyhook. I've watched a little of the Gators lately and Alex doesn't jump out of the screen to me as a dominant centre/power forward at the level.

He's not dominant.

He projects as a role player in the NBA - if he gets there.

The dominant mid in the juniors who projects as being a bit too vanilla for AFL like Tom McGuane doesn't get drafted. But a kid who isn't a dominant junior with a skillset that looks a good chance to become an AFL role player - like Will Hayes - does get drafted.

He is super quick and athletic for a legitimate 7fter. Solid, missed FT's again and 4 turnovers, but 6/8 shooting is very nice, doesn't get a lot of shots up but makes them count. Great assist stats recently as well

You are making him out to be far better than he is friend. Yeah he is a elite rim runner, but is he going to be able to defend the most athletic guys above the rim in the nba? Not playing poor sec teams that he can dunk all over in the pros.

Leaving points at the free throw line is a real problem for him, not now in the blowouts but later on when the games are tight.

He is 100% talented enough to play in the NBA in some capacity during his career. The issue this year is this might be one of the best NBA drafts we've seen in a long time, not only at the top of the draft but depth wise also. I still think it's a good chance he goes mid to late second round. But that doesn't mean he sticks on an NBA roster though. Plenty of late second rounders don't stick on NBA rosters as they don't require guaranteed contracts. He could get drafted late second round and still not be on an NBA team next season.
