It’s a little boring but you have to pick them

This is the current state of my team with 27k itb which will allow me to upgrade Derksen if he isn't selected. There is an alternative team that I am tossing up:

Alternative: Gulden, Clark, Bruhn, Budarick -> Bont, Pickett, Blakiston, Dovaston.

Alternative team leaves 50k itb. I feel like the second (Bont team) minimises byes plus locks in potentially m1 and a top 6 forward but I do like the value of the first team (Gulden team) plus the stronger Defence.

Any thoughts on this is welcome. Or if anyone has any other suggestions I'd love to hear them too

Here's my team immediately after rd0. I reckon this will be pretty close to my actual rd1 team.

I'm usually set & forget rucks, but if there's ever a season to not do it, it's this one. I'm worried about the ruck score ceiling. I'll rotate Dante and McAndrew based on form and match-up. Just need them to survive the first 6 rounds, then Blakiston will get DPP and give me more coverage. Hopefully get a clearer picture of the ruck landscape by then.

I'm taking Young out, sounds like he's touch and go for rd1. I just don't trust his body. $390k isn't nothing either. He gives me an avenue to bring Worrell back in.

Nice team mate.
Arty Jones is KO'd, he's also a small forward who will drop regular low scores.
I think you need another mid non-rookie. 6 mid rookies will be a stretch.
Kiddy playing half forward limits his scoring potential.

I'd do:
-Arty Jones out, Trac to MIDs and put him on-field, grab Budarick
-Kiddy out, DevRob to Flex, grab Dovaston for FWD bench
(You should have about $140k left)
-Grlj to Bruhn?

Rd0 shapes a lot of the cookie cutting. I hate it even though I have brought in players based on rd0.
I faded a few of the popular picks and hopefully the PODs will pay dividends.

Feels pretty ‘safe’ as a starting team, and will back myself to trade well across the season.

Any glaring omissions I need to be considering?

Didn’t see the GWS game so unsure around any of their players - is Oliver back?
