Stop being morbid....the sun will rise tomorrow n we can't lose next week.
He just needs to stick fat.

My votes in order of merit:

It really has been a perfect storm to start the season with respect to the injuries + suspensions, plus guys who are out there carrying injuries/returning (Cam, Kiddy, Oscar, Linc, Drapes).

Looks like we escaped unscathed tonight thankfully, but it might still take a few games after this bye to get going. My concern is we drop to many games before then to give us a chance at top 4. I think realistically we need top 4 again this year as there seems to be quite a few strong teams towards the pointy end.

Just need to do all we can to scrape wins over the next month when we get back.

I thought Berry was ok.

Kai's a funny player. It's a tough position but he doesn't play a lot of good games. Might be believing his own BS and needs to start working a lot harder on the defensive aspects of the game. Put to bed all this lighting the place up crap. Look how much better Charlie's game has come back since he started focusing on the defensive side of his game.

Biggest worry, apart from the loss, was that the ‘Leadership Group’ provided ZERO LEADERSHIP.

That first half was the worst performance I’ve seen from us in years, totally set us up for a dismantling. Allen was very ordinary, at this rate I would take take Gallop any day over Allen.

I didn’t expect us to win tonight, but that first half was awful. Aside from the smashing, we missed set shots.
Clearly our structure fall apart.

One third of the team was either returning from LTI or very inexperienced. There’s only so much of that you can carry. So the senior players looked average (other than Froggy, Charlie, a few others), but it takes a team for all the pieces to work right.

Bailey, Morris, Dizzy, McCluggage back after the bye.
Out: ZZ, Linc, Tunstall, one other out (maybe Annable, but could be Gallop or Oscar Allen to get some fitness up in the 2’s).

So much to work on. But more Zorko games like that and it might be time for a conversation. He was woeful.
I've said this after the last two games that we've had Kiddy & Zorko play in together, and I'll say it again, they don't work together in the same backline. Especially with Wilmot. We need another lockdown or intercept defender there instead of an attacking one.

I'd keep Linc ahead of Kai.

Thought he worked a damn sight harder than Kai. Wouldn't hurt Kai to spend time in the ressies sharpening some basics like defence instead of ineffectual flashy marking efforts.

Linc's first up game after nearly two years out was commendable.

Thats right we lost the only game they played together last year too. Obviously far too simplistic to put it down solely to that, but you’re right we do look unbalanced back there with them + Motty & Fletcher.

Not sure we can move either of them to another position right now, so maybe we just have to give that combination more time. Kiddy still looks timid to me, not just in general play, but even pulling the trigger on some of his kicks. If he gets that back and starts setting up scoring chains going the other way it may not be as big an issue.
