MCG game 2026

Just cos there is demand for tickets doesn't mean it wont be horrible viewing live at the ground.

I stand by that fact the MCG is horrible ground for any game played on rectangle its that simple for me. And i'd rather save my money and watch at home than have to spend a fortune on flights, accom and game tickets only for the view from my seat to be shit and think man i should of just saved the money and watched at home.

This is how bad I think the experience will be I'm a die hard 49ers fan (spent a fortune on going to a superbowl cos they were in it) and I still won't even consider going to MCG to watch them play.

The casuals will love it but diehards who are there to actually want to watch the action will be disappointed.

Yes, i'm probably going to be disappointed but this will be the best chance to see an NFL game in my lifetime.

I think if they put a bit of effort into the pre game and precinct itself with activities, food and good environment that will maybe offset some people having a poor viewing experience.

I'm just hoping I can get tickets. I'm quite looking forward to the whole thing.

This is the view at the G from 10 rows back. Now yes, this won't be the side view on gameday, but the G is more of a circle than an oval so we're talking fans being maybe 10m or so closer.

That pair of players on the right are on the edge of the center square which is almost the same width as the NFL field. So that big grey streak (and Ive generously made it lowish) is the mass of humanity that will be standing on the sidelines that will have to be seen over or through to view the line of scrimmage.

Then that pair nearest of the far cluster are roughly where all the folks will be on the other sideline.

Mark my words, from the bottom level, this will be awful.

The NFL are giving the MCC/AFL ideas on how to leverage more dollars from people's pockets.

They're aspiring for FIFA levels of exploitation

NFL probably has "x" thousands of allocated tickets guaranteed for US fans and corporates. Say there's 10-20k of those, then minus MCC and members too, and Australian corporates, say there's 60k general Australian tickets available for sale. With 200k expressions of interest, they'll probably try to sell those 140k that miss out some other kind of package or offer. Perhaps temp grass seating to get another 20k into the stadium, perhaps allocating some oval nearby with a giant screen and getting them to watch there, perhaps the remaining 10k offered some kind of after game access pass or special merch package....Basically finding a way to charge all 200k fans

They've done live sites at Punt Road oval next door to the mcg for the Grand Final when Richmond played.

Possibly behind each end zone?
