I will say that I think the Port performance was better - we were more mature and in control for longer periods, whereas the Dees game was a freak 10-15 minute burst.

Yeah there's alot of difference. There were times in the past where we might have lost or even just let Port get a run on but we were able to control the game twice when they were kicking goals, once early, once late. It looked like proper modern footy for long periods too.

Take it with a grain of salt but according to Caro Clarko himself told some former players that he'd leave after 4 years if things were still shit. Hard to believe since he has repeatedly said that he doesn't care if it takes 10 years and it's all part of the challenge.

He's always been pretty generous to us - to be honest though I think it's mostly just his approach. He seems to have avoided the hyperbole and nonsense approach of most special comments people.

There seems to be an element at * that's more concerned with some mythical "big 4 club" status than the sandpit they've been in for 2 decades.

What's different this time, and what I particularly liked about the weekend, was the 4 quarter effort – the win somehow feels more deserved. I'm happy for them to go down media street off the back of this. Having said that it doesn't change anything about the game against they Eagles simply have to back it up with another win.

Couple of those Port errors were reminiscent of the Dees' errors. There are a couple of differing factors, such as that this time Port started the last quarter better and we had to respond, but I'm very keen to see us in a game where the oppo play up to their potential. Port were shit. They're not as shit as they played
