Now thats a way to make a statement after a poor 1st half from Salah. He puts Liverpool 4-0 ahead and this tie is all but over now.

Been trying to look at Salah’s game to understand what’s dropped off (apart from confidence)

He had the holy six of

Smarts on the dribble to put his defender off balance
Pace to get around the off balance defender
Ball control to keep the ball at feet
Strength to hold the defender off the ball
Clinical finishing by pinpointing the corners with power
Endurance to do it all for 90 mins

out of that six, it’s that third and fourth step of pace to lock in past the defender that I feel has gone, and defenders are staying in the contest.

Get him some space through passing to the right areas rather than him just dribbling, ands I think he’s still an elite player everywhere else, the confidence will come as a result.

I was up in Newcastle for the cup game, they were all buzzing about playing Barca, I dont think any of them thought it would be easy. Didnt speak to any blues that thought Madrid would be easy. I doubt any Spurs fan thought Atletii would be easy. Liekwise Chelsea against PSG.

Arsenal and Liverpool probably the only ones confident of a result and its turned out to be true.

I doubt that people who go on about "English fans" actually speak to many.
