Since Archer is named on field I have a feeling CDT will be the unlucky one who gets left out - which is not uncommon for first year talls.

I reckon TK will come back in at the expense of Newton (who I also want to get games in to). So that's a bench of Murdoch, Lindsay, Maric, Kelly, and Allan - but honestly I have no idea lol.

Bo and Maric having good second halves definitely made it interesting.
Don't read anything into side on paper until final selection. Recall Simmo said on radio that clubs supply a list and the journalists put names into positions.

Personally I think we need to take 1 less tall and CDT while he has lots of skills probably plays RUCK/FWD, A Reid should play just 2nd ruck to Flynn for 25-30% and that leaves CDT out.
I think CDT is better that Reid but, yeah as Archer is named on field if we decide to go a tall (HExwards) for a tall then CDT misses out. Im against it but suspect it is likely.

Best 18 always plays unless a late out.

Normally yes. I think the last time we omitted someone named on field was Round 2 last year, when Flynn was omitted on the Friday after being named starting ruck on the Thursday.

He was dropped after being toweled up by Jarrod Witts in the season opener the week before.

Given Flynn named on field, and we just can’t go in with Archer/CDT/Shan/Waterman again, I do wonder if CDT makes way.

Seems an odd way of managing the young man, especially as WAFL season has yet to start. Not averse to bringing him on slowly but they already threw him in so no need to cut bait now.
What has the WAfl got to do with CDT.
Yes the Wafl season does not start till the first week of April but all teams are playing scratch matches in the lead up to the start of the season.
The Beagles play East Fremantle this week So any Eagle including CDT if fit will have a chance to get some match time and try to impress for a AFl game next week.

Why? Humility amongst sportsmen or women is pretty scarce, what is it about Kelly in particular that he needs to be brought down a peg or two.

he insists upon himself

I once watched him peg a roll of 5c coins into a crowd of homeless people just to watch them scramble, and then throw his head back in laughter as he sped off in his Mercedes convertible.

No shit, I saw someone do something similar in the Brisbane mall about 12 years ago around 1am with $2 coins. Kinda funny tbh.

So, do we think we'll get a true read on how tall Murdock is this week?

or do they drop him to stop us finding out he's shorter than Baker?
Murdock Baker and Champion in a CBA at the end of the year one time for the answer to your question lol

So I scratched and clawed my way through 2 weeks of ticketmaster hell to get a good ticket. I pray that I am not traumatised by quarter time Again. If Kelly isn't pumped and determined to play this week then he never will be. He is about our best clearance winner when he is on. I feel that his shoddy midfield defence is keeping him on the edge of the team at the moment. The fact that Matt Flynn was so skithouse last week and is likely to be skithouse again at ball ups means we need better mid defence. Xerri was about best on ground last year vs Flynn. Norf have good mids. Bo Allen could be doing a run with role this week. I would put him inside LDU's shorts. CDT and Newton miss selection I reckon. And that's ok. Reid is NEEDED to assist ruck. Duggan had 3 kicked on him last week, same as Cole. I saw Duggan rushing to take kick ins last week, Stat padding? He didn't have any impact at all and is very, very lucky to keep his spot. With Hough, Ginbey and Baker in defence, I am not sure that they need his experience. Other coaches target him with speedy forwards and he can't compete nowadays. It's also ok to play Schoenberg over Lindsay this week. Maric will play and was better last week. Schoenberg's endeavour and defensive ability may be used against Dylan Stephens who was great last week. Would love to see Ginbey towel up Jack Darling. You just know thst JD will use rare effort on Sunday. Hough on Curtis?

Whatever changes happen I'm not too fussed, but please can we just win this one because:

A: I would really like it
B: Kangas fans all think it's a foregone conclusion that they will pump us after last week, and I'd really like to take the wind out of their sails.

Does anyone know how Norf's defence stacks up against our tall forwards ?

+ by all reports he’s had a good pre season. Shame for him that his hammy happens when it did, I’d like to see him get a game this week.
He'd also be able to do more of the grunt work inside, which would free up Harley to play more in space or up forward.

North Melbourne ,with 4 qtrs pressure on ball and ball carriers, beat Port Adelaide.
We must match the NM 4 qtrs pressure on ball in order to win.
As a fan, I don't want to hear that we are proud of winning one half of the game by 6 points and losing the other half by 10 goals. Winning 4 qtrs is what we want. (especially at home)

Was watching the after game show on the telly last night (Kick Ons?), and recall that one of the presenters said multiple times that the Roos would flog us because "we were putrid".

Would like a win just to stick it up their collective arses.
