Worst. Ten goal win. Ever.
Yep. Scoreline looks think we were better than we were, even if you don't say 'if we kicked straight we would've won by more'

Our inability to play the gameplan we want and/or adapt and find a way whenever the opposition puts up a fight is pretty damn concerning IMO.

Anyone pretending it was even an okay performance is kidding themselves. We'll get smashed by Adelaide next week unless we improve massively.

🤣🤣🤣 I have watched Adelaide this season and if anything we are going to smash them

Man, would've been so nice to bank that Geelong game.

Meaningless game because with the inevitable ruck and stoppage dominance and Richmonds list it was always going to be a smacking. That first half was real yucky though.

Excited for the next fortnight. First chance to really learn where we are at.

Our fwd line is ****ing potent and super super young.
Treacy (23)
Amiss (22)
Vossy (22)
Duds (22)
Bruce (19)
Scerri (19)
Luke Jackson (24)
And then you get a combo of Bolton/Young/Switta/Serong floating around in there. 🔥🔥🔥

I have to admit I am not impressed with Worner, he is not AFL quality and when he's under pressure ,he goes to water. He coughs up the ball to the opposition to often. Simpson has to come in soon, he's a weapon.
I think Chapman is slowly building his game and confidence, I think he will come good, he's an attacking 1/2 back.

I wasn’t as annoyed by the first half as most seem to be on here. I was fully expecting a tough slog given the conditions, and anyone who’s watched a lot of Richmond knows they nearly always come out hard but then can’t sustain it it for the full game. They were remarkably accurate at goal given the conditions too.

I was pretty content at half time, confident they wouldn’t be able to keep it up and that we’d roll over them like we did.

We banked 4 points so I guess that’s good. I still think we played dreadfully for the first half so that’s a concern.
Hard slog, heavy ground - but very wasteful

Bald Cox looking very impressive.

Treacy clear BOG. Should be All-Australian.

Bolton, Serong both great.

Good to see Amiss find some form, never bought into the hysteria around his form.

Decent win in the end even though it should've been way more if we kicked straight.

But we can't excuse how we look so bad for half a game and then world beaters in the other half of a game. The gap between these two is currently massive.

Also, not sure why we always over handball in the wet. Somebody should do something about that.

I was impressed when Little Cox marked the ball just before half time and didn't hesitate for a moment to pick out Treacy for a shot on goal after the siren. Great game awareness by Coxy.
With any luck Chapman may have noticed how important it can be to be decisive. He is often way to slow and indecisive once he has the ball.

Positive: After 4 years Amiss finally got a free-kick for a hold.

Negative: It was on the wing and took the most obvious hold the umps will ever see for it to finally be paid.

So so so glad all our talls managed to get themselves in to the game given the conditions. Was worried we would be wayyyyy too tall up forward. Stoked for Amiss and Voss kept a much cooler head today.

I counted at least five times Richmond kicked, handballed or simply dropped the ball over the boundary line. The one that Ryan had kicked out of his hands was probably the most blatant, followed by old mate simply kicking it backwards over the line in their forward 50. If it was a shot and he was rushing it while spinning out of traffic it would have been on the full as he was quite far out and on an angle. 100 percent insufficient intent.

Positives:
  • JT’s hands
  • Amiss getting involved
  • Bolton going well and looking like he’s having fun while doing it
  • Cox looking good
  • Dudley’s chase
  • O’Meara looking composed and full of run; looks like a different player than he was last season

Negatives:
  • Stormtrooper accuracy
  • Worner doesn’t look like his skills are up to AFL level
  • Switkowski trying to pass when running in on goal.

Frustrating game and bad kicking. Several people have said it was a game played in the wet ... hardly. The couple of times it did rain were closer to mist.
I thought Cox and O'Meara were pretty impressive on return. Bolton and Serong were fantastic, along with Treacy of course.
Worner had a game he'd probably like to forget, didn't see much of Scerri this week. Voss kicked one but could've kicked three or four, seems like he was kicking too close to the player on the mark.
Darcy struggled again I thought, but good to see the boys get around him after that goal. Will do him a world of good.
Still happy with how Ras and Johnno are progressing and good to see Jye slot a couple.

Treacy: best key forward in the league verging on best player in the league.
Bolton: getting what we hoped last year. He is putting some serious questions to what to do with Young on his return.
Darcy: ranked sixth best on ground for Freo and still not enough for some. Clearly his best game, admittedly against a kid, but he is improving week on week and the coach is being slowly rewarded by backing him in. He is starting to move much better. Huge three quarters from the big man after qtr time.
Serong: superstar.
Cox: what a massive game first time back. Took no time getting into form.
Amiss: finally got his lick of the ice cream.
Clark: vying for best half back in the game.

Neutral: JOM was good

Negatives:
Erasmus: thought Ras had a horrible day with his disposal.
Worner: huge pressure coming on his spot.
Switta: backing him in to work into the season but he looks like a man whose body is as stiff as a board at times. He will get there I'm sure. At his best is one of our best.

Relatively quiet games from Jackson, Reid, Dudley, Scerri.

Can't take much from the Game, playing a team that seems to always burn all their fuel in the first half.

Reckon we will win all the games up to the dogs game from here. Hope no banana Peel game along the way.
