It's more...he is not a durable player. We can't afford players who give glimpses and then we pay for them to basically do rehab for prolonged periods. I don't think he's been a good get for us and he cost a lot.

The next part of the condensed fixture is going to get ugly. The Roos are quicker than the Dees- will run off us our feet. The Crows game will be a massacre. And the the Pies are still well and truly too good for us.

Tactically you can't have poor ball users off half back- we all know who they are. Played too tall again and predictably there was no matchup for Pickett. Really poor tactical coaching and went a long way to losing through selection. And equally poor on the players to not be able to fight the 2nd half mental demons yet again. At some point they need to stand up. What are we doing in the sport psychology field!? We need to invest heavily into that.

In 40 years of watching footy I don't think I've ever seen anything like this. Not from any supposedly professional team. Sure it can happen to anyone occasionally but three weeks in a row like clockwork?

They did exactly the same thing last year against Richmond.

Every year under 3 different coaches this core group has given up a huge lead and lost or almost lost games.

It is literally their calling card.

I think I am finally done. I pay my membership. I love this club but this is not enjoyable and I am just really angry right now. I already have tickets to the Crows and Power matches here but I don't think I give a crap anymore.

Carlton’s midfield remains a liability, suffering from the same systemic flaws that have plagued the club for years. There is a glaring lack of hurt factor, matched only by a complete lack of defensive accountability when the ball turns over. Hewett & Cripps no longer work in tandem.
What is damning is the lack of consequences underperforming veterans remain untouchable in the starting 22, while the coaching staff refuses to enforce the non-negotiables required of a premiership contender. Until there is a genuine threat to their roles, this cycle of defensive apathy & susceptibility to being opened up between the arcs will continue to define the club.

A positive, my boy, Byrne, showed a little bit & could teach the rest of the side a thing or two about attacking man & ball.. it was his first game!!
